This lock is so good. I'm coming from the Evolution model which I loved and secured my bike, but someone stole the entire rack it was locked to and the price went up so I went with this model lock instead. The mounting adapter that goes onto your bike is great! I keep the lock clipped to it as I ride around, the key goes on my key ring and it fits well and keeps my bike secure. I did have some trouble using the key or undoing the lock, so I sprayed some WD40 on the part that comes apart and in the keyhole. Then I used teflon dry bike chain lube on the same parts and in the keyhole, put the key in there and turned it a bunch. Now it works perfectly and is easy to lock or unlock! If you need a solid U-Lock with a bike frame mount - THIS IS THE ONE!

Good if you’re not in a high crime area.

We mounted these to our Lectric XP 3.0. Because of the awkwardness of the ebike frame, we should have went with a wider and/or longer lock. It isn't long enough to really lock a wheel real good, and isn't wide enough to secure the step through mid frame. This would be a good secondary lock for the XP 3.0, but not the primary. The supplied mount works great and keeps the lock in place when we travel.

Standard kryptonite bike lock is heavy duty

One of the most user friendly locks I've seen that leaves you without worrying if your bike would be stolen. Even though the width of the bar is thin it seems very dense which might help in case an unexperienced thief tries to break it. Unlocking this bike with the key that is given is easy and doesn't require that much of a struggle. All in all, its an affordable lock that gives you more than what you pay for.

Lock is great and tough, I just wish my town invested in racks with larger loops so I could actually use the cable to attach my bike to the secure stands.

La marca Kriptonite es una de las mas importantes y con gran experiencia en seguridad , en este caso para las bicicletas nos ofrecen un candado en forma de U muy seguro, resisten y funcional, manejando un precio accesible por el vendedor, se los recomiendo bastante ya que ofrece un alivio al dejar su bicicleta, claro tomando en cuenta aspectos de la localidad donde se encuentran, el lugar donde la encadena etc, pero es imponente para cualquier persona de lo ajeno, un aspecto a tomar es que cuando lo comiencen a usar, colóquenle afloja todo o dw40 para que no haya roces con la llave y la entrada esto por lo nuevo del articulo.

Cet antivol semble solide. A l'usage le U est un peu court pour bien attacher un VAE à un point fixe. Le câble permet d' y arriver mais c'est probablement moins sur qu'avec le U.

I bought the previous version of this cheaper U-lock from Kryptonite back in 2011. I live in a city where bike thefts are extremely common and yet my bicycle (a Nishiki hybrid) was never stolen. Unfortunately my Kryptolok developed the key jam issue and no amount of lubricant or even using the spare key helped. I therefore went for this newer model which now has a Gold rating instead of a Silver rating of the earlier model. I was pleasantly surprised that the bracket had been improved as with the earlier model I always had issues with detaching the lock from it. This new bracket is more adjustable, easier to tighten and the lock detaches effortlessly. The U-lock itself is nicer as now the key hole is at the the center of the lock which means you are less likely to put too much pressure on the key when locking and unlocking. The key hole cover is also much easier to use as its just a small cover you slide on top of the key hole. I did think about buying a slighly more expensive and secure model but in my opinion this is probably the best value bike lock you can find (the general opinion at least in my location seems to be that U-locks are better than any other lock type and Kryptonite is usually more durable than Abus or some other brand). Highly recommended for the price!
