Works for me
Because another BIG name brand discontinued their coal tar shampoo I have been searching desperately for something to help with my scalp issues. This isn't something I would use every day but the relief was immediate and comparable to the product I used to use. It is a coal tar shampoo so yes it smells like tar. It has a higher concentration than the original but the relief lasts longer. Without a coal tar shampoo I develop sores and a thick build-up of dead skin, I'm glad I tried this one. If you're missing the discontinued one get this one. It is expensive but it's going to last me a very long time.

Good at what it offers, has a strong smell.....
There are times when I get an itchy scalp and the odd spot. It seems that this shampoo, when occasionally used, can help a lot with both.Firstly, so little is needed to get a decent lather. I tend to wash it into my scalp whilst in the shower first, then wash the rest of my body. That allows it to stay on the head and I imagine that will be beneficial, rather than a quick wash on and off.Depending on how severed my head is itching, or having a number of spots, I will vary using this from once a week to about three times when it is bad. It did take the more regular use about a month before all the spots and the itching reduced significantly. Two issues I have noted......You really need to appreciate the smell of the coal tar based shampoo, it is strong and it can be noticeable after rinsing. The cost, it is expensive, but I counter that somewhat by only using the minimum that I need to manage my condition.Overall, most useful, understanding it is expensive and does have a lingering strong smell. It has been most effective for my needs and lathers very well.
