We had a Penquin bubbly water maker for 15+ years that recently stopped working and thought it was a terrific addition to our meal making. We even mourned its passing. But this SodaStream is like an iphone compared to a flipphone. It is even easier to use, makes better seltzer and a larger quantity UNBREAKABLE container. The amazing thing to me is it is even less costly than the Penquin was all those years ago. Hopefully, I'll be using this at least 15 years and not need to buy another. But, If you like your bubbly or seltzer or fizzy soda water, I highly recommend this product.

Design & Setup: Quick Connect (Pink Cylinder): The "Quick Connect" technology is a massive improvement. No more awkward screwing in of the CO2 cylinder; it just snaps in with a handle-lock. It took me less than 60 seconds to go from unboxing to my first glass of seltzer. Cordless Freedom: Since it’s manual, there are no cords cluttering the counter. I keep mine on a bar cart, and it works perfectly without needing to be near an outlet. Dishwasher Safe Bottle: The included bottle is actually dishwasher safe (check the label on yours!), which solves the #1 annoyance of older SodaStream models. Sustainability Note: I was going through two cases of sparkling water a week. This machine has completely eliminated that plastic waste. The CO2 exchange program is super easy to use, making the long-term cost much lower than buying pre-bottled seltzer. Pros: Stunning retro-industrial design. Intuitive lever for customizable fizz. No electricity required. Easy-to-use "Quick Connect" cylinder system. Cons: Higher price point than the "Terra" model, but the build quality and look justify it if you leave it on your counter. Final Verdict: The SodaStream ART is the perfect blend of style and utility. It’s a "buy it once" kind of appliance that performs as good as it looks. If you’re a heavy seltzer drinker, this is a 5-star investment for your home bar or kitchen.

This is a nice setup. I and family are very happy. It surprises me how quiet this sodastream is compared to the one we bought six years ago. With the side pull handle it is easy to use and can be placed on the counter under our kitchen cabinets. Keep saving the planet!

Very nice operation just pushup and pull handle down. Does work with old drink bottles. It does not work with old CO2 bottles. The CO2 bottle also pushes in; it does not screw in and cannot be used with direct to co2 bottle to machine adapter. You must purchase the adapter for this. (Quick Connect CO2 Cylinder Adapter Fitting)

My best purchase was a countertop water filtration system from Amazon that has optional remineralization of the filtered water. (Stokk T1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter. I love it.) I keep the pitcher that comes with it filled and in my frig to make sure the water is cold. I have been drinking my electrolytes in canned seltzer water because I like the bubbles and it makes drinking it more enjoyable. Sometimes I would get flavored water, sometimes just plain. I've been purchasing the store brand because it contains 12 cans per case and it's less expensive. Name brands usually have just 8 cans and cost more. Enter SodaStream! Ta Da! It was on sale for Black Friday so I took advantage of it at my sister's suggestion. My filtered remineralized water is clean and delicious and when carbonated, it makes the cleanest and most delicious sparkling water I have ever tasted. This SodaStream is very easy to use. I unpacked it, read the instructions, registered my unit for warranty, set up the system and made my first liter of fizzy deliciousness in under 30 minutes! Let me tell you how economical my purchase will be. A 12 pack of store brand seltzer water is about 4 liters at a cost of about $4.50. At two cans a day, a 12 pack lasts for 6 days and that comes to about fifteen 12 packs (60 liters) for about $67.50 every 90 days. A cannister of SodaStream CO2 makes approximately 60 liters of bubbly water using the recommend 3 pumps of gas. Right now the cost for a two-pack is $68.99. (I like light carbonation so I do one/two pumps.) The 90 day cost for SodaStream should be about $34.50, if my calculations are correct. And as a bonus, I won't be filling the landfills with empty cans. (My city doesn't recycle.) This alone makes me feel good about my purchase. The flavorings are nice but will add to your cost. My electrolytes come in flavored and unflavored varieties so I will usually opt out of adding more flavoring. I really recommend SodaStream. It's fun, economical and good for our environment! UPDATE: I have been using my SodaStream twice a day since the day I got it and the original CO2 cylinder is still going strong. So far, it's lasted more than two months. I can't imagine living without this machine. It helps me keep on track to take my electrolytes on a regular basis. Thanks SodaStream!

I bought this one (the ART) to replace my old one from circa 2017. The old one was fine but the ART improved on it immensely. The cylinder changes quickly and easily. The carbonation is stronger and the push handle/lever makes it much easier to use and gauge intensity compared to the push button method of the older model. Very pleased with it and just started my tank exchange/refill subscription because I am using it for practically all beverages now for myself and family and friends. It really is just like opening a store bought bottle or getting a fountain soda. Highly recommend it!

Terrible quality, very bad product, leaks gas from every side while using, the bottle is made from cheap or recycled plastic, you can tell when you look through, it’s kind of cloudy, it’s supposed to be clear PET… it’s just very bad don’t buy it.
