Overall, I'm very impressed with the design and functionality of the wall safe. Although I wasn't able to install this in my home, (for the time being, since I am renting and don't want to make any permanent changes until I talk to my landlord) I found it to be really useful and clever when experimenting with it. The design of the safe makes it look indistinguishable from the other outlet plates in my home, making it blend in well. The materials and structural design feel very sturdy and durable. Even if someone were to pull this safe out of my wall, I'd at least feel better knowing that the contents of my safe are still intact and hard to remove. The only major drawbacks for me were the small size of the safe which limits what it can hold as well as the fact that the installation seems a little weak, making it easy to remove from the wall if someone were to find it. The media could not be loaded. So I've been looking for a smart way to protect my valuables. I have a small safe, but what is the first thing a criminal is going to grab when they see a small safe. Someone pointed me to this slick wall safe that is small, compact, and is made to look like a power outlet.With this unique design I think it will make it much harder for anyone really to know there is a hidden lock box in my house. While the smaller box doesn't offer a lot of space It does offer enough room for smaller valuables, important keys, small documents and even money if you need a place to hide some around the house.The installation was easy. i didn't even need instructions. It came with a great cut out that let me outline it and showed me how to install it for the less capable. It took about 10 minutes to install and I've included a video from start to finish of installing the product.Big thanks to Elder for such an affordable, easy-to-use, lockbox. I am most likely going to order one for each of my roommates.Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.Tools: Screwdriver, stud finder (if you don't know how to find one on your own), sharp knife or other drywall cutting utensil. Pencil. Should be all you need. Maybe a hammer just to get the knife to cut through the drywall quicker. I highly recommend outlining the stencil they provide so you know where to cut.

Device is just as expected, and has unusually good and well written instructions on installing it. Double check what you want to put in it because, while the stated measurements are completely accurate, it struck me that it was smaller than I expected it to be when I actually had it in my hands.Once in place it does certainly look the part and I doubt anyone would notice it at all just walking past it. The magnetic attachment of the face plate is strong, but not so strong that anyone who tried to get it off couldn't, so anyone who tried to monkey with it would find it out quickly. That said, the box is actually set up so you could plug something into it and it would take the plug. Obviously there wouldn't be any power, but so long as the plate cover stayed in place people would just think the plug was on a switch or dead, not that it was a safe, which is a nice plus and opens up the opportunity to plug a 'dead' nightlight into it or whatever to have people extra not pay attention to it. Ymmv, but to me this does what it needs to do to work.

Solid built, but you need to see what outlet shape your current house has before buying. I bought this square outlet version but my existing plugs are all round so it was a fail on my end.It is a little hard to get items out of the bottom compartment, but it’s a good product, I would buy again.

Shipping was quick! Positively, what I was expecting versus what was received are two entirely different things. I was anticipated an outlet box with magnets to hold on a faceplate that you screw into your wall. What I received was a high quality metal box with a lock and key inside under the faceplate. I found it very impressive that the seams are all welded and once installed it actually creates a a very secure enclosure that you can put in your wall and hide something important. Even if someone was to somehow figure out that if they took off the outlet face they might be able to get into the box, but they couldn’t without one of the keys.I’m not handy. Installation was easier than I thought it would be. Inside the box a direction sheet as well as a URL that leads to an installation video that literally walks someone through each and every step. I’m a visual learner, seeing it being installed was so helpful!Apparently a steak knife can cut through drywall. Enclosed hardware/ screws were the right length and everything just fit together as planned. I could tell someone put a lot of thought into the creation of this.Only downside to this is the outlet face didn’t match my outlet faceplates throughout my house. This was not a very big deal at all. The simple remedy was to go to my local home improvement store and purchase one identical to what is in the house. No big deal at all. It was not hard at all how to swap out the faceplate I purchased at the store with what was included in the kit.I love this product and would purchase another if the time arises!
