Review: A beast - Was new to HVAC, so scoured reddit and other forums for vacuum pump recommendations. This was the #1 recommended vacuum pump, before Fieldpiece and all the others came out with those boxy pumps with the easy oil change. At the time of purchase, this was also the highest CFM per dollar I could find in such a highly recommended brand. It is not the lightest, but is relatively quiet and serves the purpose quite well. Suction is good enough to take a 3 ton system to around 100 microns, possibly lower given ample time and good enough valve caps and fittings. It has a single 1/4" inlet for standard vacuum hose and two 3/8" inlets for the fancy larger evacuation hoses. The only thing I don't particularly care for is that there is no built in protection to keep oil from sucking up through the inlet when you turn the pump off. Granted, that's a mistake the average idiot like myself will only make once, but still. Make sure to use shutoff valves to keep from sucking oil into your installation.
