“We’ve met before, haven’t we?” A mesmerizing meditation on the mysterious nature of identity, Lost Highway , David Lynch’s seventh feature film, is one of the filmmaker’s most potent cinematic dreamscapes. Starring Patricia Arquette and Bill Pullman, the film expands the horizons of the medium, taking its audience on a journey through the unknown and the unknowable. As this postmodern noir detours into the realm of science fiction, it becomes apparent that the only certainty is uncertainty. DIRECTOR-APPROVED 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES Review: Great - Great movie, great service Review: Pure Lost Highway - Lost Highway (The Criterion Collection) is for David Lynch fans and anyone curious about his darker, more abstract work. Not for viewers looking for clarity or comfort. Pros • The 4K scan does the film justice, with noticeably cleaner blacks and stronger contrast than older releases. • Grain and texture feel intact rather than scrubbed, which suits the mood and era of the film. • Sound and image together finally give the film some breathing room at home. Cons • The film itself is still opaque and unsettling, which can be a turnoff if you’re new to Lynch. Verdict This is the best I’ve seen the film look and feel. As a longtime Lynch fan, this release absolutely delivers.

That it was David Lynch that made this! Nothing more needs to be said!
I have yet to see a bad David Lynch film. And really all I need to know is that it was David Lynch that made this film. Lost Highway is a GREAT film as are ALL of his films!

Outstanding 4k release
Absolutely crazy movie that I had somehow never seen. Mulholland Drive is on of my all time favorite films, but David Lynch is usually big hit or huge miss for me. BLUE VELVET is wonderous. WILD AT HEART gave me a headache. Season 1 of TWIN PEAKS is easily the best television of the 20th century. FWWM made me want to eat my Glock. LOST HIGHWAY was kind of right up the middle. Special recognition for Patricia Arquette, who was VaVaVoom femme fatal amazing. Wow. Just wow. The 4K release looks very filmlike and has wonderful, natural film grain. A lot of low light photography was used here so it's not super sharp. It's also somewhat subdued in color, but I imagine that fits the mood. The sound is outstanding. All of Lynch's film utilize powerful sound design. I snagged this at 50% off so I'd say it was worth the purchase. I will watch it again. By the way, this is my second attempt at writing review since Amazon‘s automatic review editing process results in perfectly normal language being flagged as bad. It’s just ridiculous.

It's says on the back notes 4K digital restoration! I'm not sure about this, but it looks superb!
An excellent David Lynch movie! Part of the description says, A mesmerising meditation on the mysterious nature of identity! It's perplexing in a good way! LOST HIGHWAY "this Blu Ray" has a 4K restoration, a new 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack! And extras, with interviews with Dir: David Lynch, actors Patricia Arquette, Bill Pullman & Robert Loggia! Beautifully Shot! With an excellent sound track, which I'll photo of! A note of trivia is Bill & Patricia's house is actually one of David Lynch's, in his compound residence!

A Nightmare Never Looked and Sounded So Good
As a longtime fan of David Lynch's work, I've always felt that Lost Highway was a visual and sonic masterpiece that never quite got the home video treatment it deserved. Criterion's new 4K UHD release changes that completely. This is the definitive edition, and it's an absolute must-buy. The new 4K transfer, supervised by Lynch himself, is a revelation. The film's signature contrast between deep, suffocating blacks and vibrant, saturated reds is stunningly rendered with Dolby Vision HDR. Details that were murky in previous releases now pop with clarity, from the grainy texture of the film stock to the unsettling shadows in Fred Madison's house. It truly feels like watching the film in a new light, or rather, in a new darkness. The audio is equally impressive. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack brings Trent Reznor's score and Angelo Badalamenti's compositions to life in a way that is both immersive and unsettling. The mix is dynamic, with dialogue remaining perfectly clear even during the film's most chaotic and bass-heavy sequences. The unsettling sound design, a hallmark of Lynch's work, has never been so effective. Beyond the perfect A/V presentation, the set includes a fantastic array of special features. The highlight is the feature-length documentary, Pretty as a Picture: The Art of David Lynch, which is an essential companion piece. Archival interviews and excerpts from his book, Room to Dream, round out a comprehensive package that offers a wealth of insight into this elusive film. In summary, if you're a fan of Lost Highway, this is the upgrade you've been waiting for. If you've never seen the film, there has never been a better way to experience this bizarre, hypnotic, and unforgettable cinematic fugue state.

Un clásico de Lynch.
Gran película. Un enigma dentro de un misterio. Más que resolverlo hay que experimentar la película y dejarse llevar. En esta versión se ve y se escucha increíble.

Absolutely amazing! Been waiting 20 years for this quality!
Wow! I'm over joyed that one of my favourite films is FINALLY represented properly! The 4K UHD version is impeccable. I blasted it on 5.1 surround sound and nearly cried at how crisp and gorgeous the transfer is. I don't know what to say other than if you love Lynch and this kinda film, nothing tops this criterion addition. Thank you CRITERION xoxoxoxo
