One more question - the diagram shows wiring direct from aux battery. Wouldn't this meter stay on all the time when not in use?

This unit uses the top, main Positive to power the unit. No power is applied on the auxiliary positive. So run a wire direct to the aux source, and use the ignition hot to control a relay connecting the main battery with the volt meter main positive. I grounded into my switch panel negative buss. Simple and effective.

i am going to purchase an ausdin rocker switch panel with single voltmeter. i want to install this dual voltmeter in its place. is this possible?

I have a blue seas batt switch installed to switch between main/aux batt, can i install this also for volts or will it interfer with the switch?

No, it will not interfer. It is two (2) sepereate circuits that measure the voltage of each battery. When the isolator has them connected (caharging) or if you have them connected in paralell they read the same.

Does this gauge stays illuminated all the time. Is there a way to shut off the light.

Yes it would stay on. The main you could put it onto any "key on" circuit on the fuse box. The AUX would need a switch.
