I needed a replacement hose for my fluval 407 canister filter and this is exactly what I needed. Keep in mind you may need additional adapters if you want to cut this hose. I needed two short pieces so I cut this one in half and used the appropriate adapters to connect to my filter. Previously I was using vinyl tubing but the intake hose ended up collapsing on me and I was getting very little filtration. I went back to using the original fluval hose and all my problems were solved. I once again have excellent water flow and the filter is working properly. These have the added benefit of being extremely flexible even around tight turns, whereas normal hoses would kink up.

These work great on fluval canister or devices to connect up canisters or devices that use 16mm hoses. If you are using actual Fluval devices, they will have a collar that screws over the hose grommets to keep them in place. If you are not using actual Fluval devices, You should use a circular clamp on each connection to assure they don't pop off. As stated in the info, each hose is 16mm inner diameter, have flexible design so they can be bent up to 90 degrees, and are 9.8 feet long. So if your device came with one of those horrible 12" or 18" short hoses, a couple of these hoses allow you to get the device connected further from the canister filter. They are specifically designed to work with the Fluval 306/307/406/407 canisters and most any device using 16mm hoses. You can also put a reducer connector in between these and the device you intend to connect if it say uses 12mm hoses. Just remember that smaller diameter hoses don't handle as much water pressure as bigger ones. It might be wise to use circle clamps to hold them together more firmly.

Perfect size.

I have a Fluval canister filter 407 and it is highly recommended to have at least one of those ready just in case. I bought the UV in-line sterilization and I had to use a new hose cause I could not make it fit in the old one after having it installed. At least I recommend to change the hose every six months, I rather have a new one than cleaning and scrubbing the old ones; you can never get free of all the debris inside it, or any day the rubbers will loose the tightness. A new one is a peace of mind and it makes the filter work better

what can i say its a hose. it worked well and did not leak. I don't like the ribs cause the collect dirt and debris that's hard to get out. All in all it was a lot longer than i needed but that's better than not enough.
