Review: Easy Use, Good Connectivity, Smooth Transitions & Fun Color Scenes! - It all started when I bought my desertcart Echo Spot, and it came with a WiZ light bulb. I wasn't crazy about their app, and the bulb was underwhelming to say the least. Therefore, I looked into some other brands of Smart Bulbs and was about to order, when I found this multi-pack on sale for $15! This was also right after we had gotten our Smart Door Lock, the TP-Link DL110, so I ordered these TP-Link L530 RGBW Smart Bulbs, and needless to say, we are pleased as punch! PROS: I wish these would go on sale like that again, because $15 was an excellent price for a 4 pack of Smart RGBW Bulbs by a Name Brand! But, I'd still buy them at their regular price of $25, as this 4 pack is a solid value for money spent. The TAPO App is very easy to use, to set up the bulbs, and create a group for a cluster of bulbs in one fixture, which makes controlling them all at the same time, especially using Alexa or Google, much simpler. Plus there are controls for setting power on/off delays & fine tuning the dimming for smooth transitions. Also, I like the color scenes you can set which make each bulb a different color, mixing to give off a fun combination of all the colors 1st photo)! Plus a nightlight setting (2nd photo)! Probably the best thing about these Smart Bulbs is their versatility. All you need to do is screw these bulbs into any type of lamp or light socket, pair them using the TAPO App, and there you have it! A WiFi connected Smart Home light source, that is voice controllable without the need of special switches or plugs. How cool is that? CONS: The only thing that I find a bit odd is that when I have it on Warm White at 30% brightness in our bedroom, the color makes everything look a bit pinkish, like you're looking through a coral hued filter. While this doesn't really bother me, I still thought I should mention it. But that's it, really NO complaints at all! OVERALL: I personally love the long standing & solid reputation of TP-Link by TAPO as a brand of products that we've used for years. I totally love our Smart Door Lock & Smart Bulbs and have been looking into purchasing TP-Link Cameras as well. Therefore, I very highly recommend these Smart Bulbs, as they are stellar in performance, easy to use, and provide a really good value for their price (whether you pay full price or luck-out with a sale!). Either way, more power to your home!
Review: Better than Kasa - These are similar to the old Kasa KL-130 bulb, but add several cool new features. For instance, there is now a "party mode" that can use your phone's microphone to make a light show with your bulbs, or the bulbs can just cycle between several colors on their own. They also updated the sunset and sunrise times to allow up to 5 hours before or after instead of only 59 minutes. You can set your lights to turn on or off up to 5 hours and 59 minutes before or after sunrise or sunset, so you have lot's of flexibility. The old KL-130 bulbs had an "away" mode, but they took it away when they made the switch to the Tapo app. The away mode is available from the main screen on these Tapo lights. When set to Away Mode, these lights will randomly turn on and off making it appear like you are home when you are away. The fade feature has also changed. The Kasa KL-130 can be set to fade up to 60 minutes. This Tapo light can only be set to fade up to 30 minutes. That being said, the 'fade' on the original light was stepped, so around every few seconds it would get brighter or dimmer and you would noticeably see it 'step'. The Tapo light does this much more smoothly. The pairing feature also seemed different to me although it's been a long time since I've set up the KL-130. I'm pretty sure those used Bluetooth for setup, and these use Wi-Fi instead, and that's where people are probably going to have the most trouble. During the pairing process, it will ask you to pair your phone with the light. If you have a phone like my Pixel 7, you will need to turn off your cellular network connection while doing this, or the phone won't pair to the light and setup will fail. They are also only 2.4Ghz, which can also cause people issues if they have newer phones. This is kind of a bad setup experience, but for me it was no big deal. That being said, I wouldn't buy these for someone else unless I was prepared to help them set them up. Overall, the light color and brightness is indistinguishable from the older KL-130 bulb to my eyes regardless of the color setting, so I'm not replacing all of my old bulbs just yet.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Setup and Works Great with Alexa
*by R***N on September 8, 2026*

These smart bulbs work really well. I have mine connected to my Alexa Echo, and setup and everyday use have been easy. Alexa controls the bulb without any problems, and the different colors and dimming features work as expected. I've had no issues with it so far. It does exactly what I wanted, works reliably with my smart home setup, and I'm very happy with it. Definitely a good smart light bulb.
