The Japanese are as good as it gets with edged tools (yes, these are actually made in China, but the company is Japanese), and these are no exception. I have a great set of larger shears for my kitchen by another Japanese manufacturer, but their smaller units were far more expensive than I need for the light duty these will receive, so I chose these instead. The scissors look attractive (mine are the green), have a very nice feel to the large rubber loops in the handle, and are quite sharp, too. They cut smoothly and effectively, plus the blade sheath, which is a real bonus over similar others, fits easily and snugly. The paperwork with them is all Chinese or Japanese, with no English translation, just like the description here, but hey, they're just scissors, so pretty self-explanatory, right? I recommend them highly, and feel they're an excellent value at this low price.

I love these scissors, they cut so well! I’d buy them for everyone honestly. I love the sheath for the blades, makes it feel safe and secure. They have a nice grip and I have been using them for over a year. They’re great.

Amazing scissor. Purposely bought this to cut really sticky tape that kept getting sticky residue on my old scissor. I was getting so tired of cleaning it and dealing with the gook and choppy cutting. Absolutely no sticky residue gets on this scissor. Cutting is also smooth and blades are sharp. Recommend this if you're looking for a quality scissor!

Man these are sharp! I barely grazed my finger on the blade to see how sharp it is and it almost drew blood, I love Japanese stationery they really take care for quality!

These scissors work well enough but not great. I was trying to find a pair for multiple uses to replace a pair of fiskars that I have been using. I was looking for white scissors that were also left handed and found these. After reading about them and seeing that they come with a cover I thought I would try them. I have only had them for a short time so cannot attest to long term durability but they seem like a fairly good quality product as far as build quality goes. They feel like nice scissors. The inside of the grips are slightly soft and grippy. The blades open and close smoothly, they are fairly quiet and it is lightweight. I am not sure they are up to doing thicker material though. They do not seem as heavy duty as the fiskars pair I compared them with in the picture. I do not know about long session tape cutting usage and whether or not the tape gets stuck less or leaves less residue compared to others. But I tried these on tape, plastic, thin cardboard, cigarette filters, fabric and found mixed results. The thickness and density and finish of the material seems to effect the outcome, sometimes getting slid in between the blades as the blades flex outward and allow the material to just get smashed in the middle. I took a picture of one instance with a piece of t shirt material. I found that when cutting the fabric and cigarette filters that the material needed to be held firmly or the blades would slide off of them and not cut through at all. I tried showing this with the video. The blades are not grabbing the material for whatever reason. Some others immediately hold the piece you are cutting in between the blades due to the sharpness or texture(?) of the blades. I did find that tape still sticks to it although as said I don't know if it would be better after cutting tape all day. I also found that it is a decent handle but not specific to left or right hand and is not specially ergonomic in any way that makes it extra comfortable to hold. It is decent especially when compared to using specific right hand scissors with a left hand. But I may prefer a pair that shaped more for a left hand specifically. I also found that it does not cut quite as well with the left hand. Something about the way the blades move and the force your hands apply is different fore at least and I have had mixed results with the left hand cutting. I think that they are a comparably priced pair of scissors especially since they have a cover. It fits well enough by the way. Slides on and off smoothly and seems like it will last for a while. Side note, it does cut a straight line, if the material does not slide away.

These scissors are a joy to use every day. I wish I had these as a kid. They cut perfect and feel great in the hand I purchased my brother a pair because he definitely needs some. Everyone does!
