I used my original hardware and it worked fine. But aside fron that this roller will leave scuff marks on a light color gel coat so beware. I threw mine in the trash. **Q: Is the rubber hard as a rock or somewhat flexible ?, all feedbacks are useless bragging about great product but no one describes its properties.** A: The rubber is about as hard as the rubber of your tires, which is right for that application. **Q: What is the middle section diameter and the width of the small central section?** A: It’s hard to measure precisely but the width of the middle section is approximately 1” and the diameter is about 1 1/4”. **Q: what size shaft hole** A: I’m guessing it’s a 1/2” to 5/8” diameter.
