I have purchased this as a gift to friends kids who are interested in paleontology. I feel that the specimens were well selected, came with useful information and will generate interest and learning in the kiddos. Kudos to you Dancing Bear!

Incredible collection of fossils! The curation and attention to detail with this collection is unrivaled. Each item comes with a description card and a beautiful specimen (for some items, there are multiple) of the fossil in their own individual bag. There is also an informational chart and a small book with even more information about fossils. Paid $20 for this in August of 2025 and it's worth its weight in gold. It doesn't matter if you're 8 or 80, this will please anyone who is interested in natural science!

I bought this for a 5-year old student who loves fossils. It was a very nice kit with each fossil in a separate bag including an information card. The booklet and poster were nice too with a lot of good information. The fossils themselves were very nice examples. Great educational item.

Nice variety of items come individually packaged with specific names and information. Outer box is sturdy with attractive presentation. Great gift; slightly pricey as similar set purchased several years ago was $10 less, but still reasonable.

I don't know what is better, the product or the customer service! The kit comes with 12 fossils individually packaged with an information card for that fossil. You will also received a very informative geological time scale and a booklet with information about the fossils. I purchased this for my in-home preschool when our theme of the week was fossils. The children absolutely loved handling them and learning about them. When I opened the kit and went through the fossils, I discovered that one was missing. The package and card was there, just not the fossil. I contacted the company via email asking if it were possible to receive a replacement one. The only question asked was for my shipping address. I RECEIVED THE FOSSIL THE VERY NEXT DAY - a Saturday, even. Granted, I live in Oregon and the company is in Oregon just north of me, but I did not expect to see it that fast. It's a very fun purchase, and not only did my preschool children love it, all adults and my own older children loved handling and reading all of the facts. If you're on the fence about purchasing, just go for it. The one thing is really, REALLY wanted was a fish fossil, but I didn't receive that one in my kit. Regardless, all of them were intact and easily identifiable, and the information cards and booklet were fun to read and learn from. 5 stars all around!

I used these fossils for a lesson plan. I showed them over the doc-cam, and my students sketched them. Then they looked at illustrations and read information about the animals they came from, and tried to match the fossils to the correct organisms. It led up to a unit project where the students could choose what they wanted to do (write a report or a children’s book, create an informational poster or a PowerPoint, etc. on one of the organisms). The kids were super intrigued by the various fossils. Without telling them what it was, I had them pass around the coprolite and try to guess what it was. It was a memorable lesson, and one I plan to use year after year. This is well worth the price, a wonderful set.

I LOVE this set!! We bought one to check it out because the price was worth it and I never expected I would love it so much. We've already bought two more to use as Christmas gifts!! Would %100 buy again!

I am buying NAT Geo and Dancing bear products for a year now and they are getting worse and worse, but this was amazing.

On the box it said GENUINE fossils! But the trilobite was a mold and a fake. You can tell by the little holes in them. When molds are made this can't be prevented. Overall good.
