Unbelievable softtt
Iโve had literal dreams of an oversized pastel colour block cardigan but decided ยฃ300 WASNT worth the spend. So I embarked on making my own. I have never crocheted in my life however I like pain and misery. After scrolling the internet I came across these and fell in love with the colours. It arrived super fast and just touching they yarn balls makes me think of what child me thought a cloud would feel like. Admittedly it is a hard yarn to work with as a complete beginner as it is super soft and slippery, especially if youโre using an aluminium hook/knitting needle, however it is manageable with patience and you might come to appreciate it later when youโre whizzing through your 1000th stitch. Pictures is my first sleeve of my project. I definitely wouldnโt call theses super chunky. Theyโre definitely thicker then most, however if you search on YouTube for tutorials this is definitely not the super chunky size ones theyโre using. However I do think itโs still worth it and looks supeeer cute.

Pros and cons. Please read the full review
There are pros and cons to this yarn. Also I have been able to find very little specific information about techniques that can be employed to overcome some of the difficulties. Firstly it should be noted that this is not a spun yarn. There are no plys. It is fluff attached to string. Therefore, the fabric made from it does not look the same as a fabric made from wool or acrylic. To give an example, I have posted pictures of moss stitch (k1, p1) knitted with this yarn (the pink pictures). It can be seen that the purl stitches made using this fabric are elongated and somewhat large (despite the fact that I am a tight knitter). The green swatch is what moss stitch looks like when using normal spun wool or yarn. The difference in ribbing is even more noticeable. This is something that needs to be borne in mind when selecting which kind of fabric you are desiring to make. Knit a swatch first to see if you like the result produced by this yarn. Pros and cons Pros 1. It is a beautifully soft yarn and makes a fabric that feels snuggly and cosy. 2. It makes a very warm fabric as the yarn is the equivalent of a 12 ply chunky yarn. 3. It feels nice to work with as it is very soft. Cons 1. This yarn gives an extremely poor stitch definition. It can difficult to see whether the stitch on the row below the one currently being worked is a knit or a purl. I am a knitter with over 40 years experience and sometimes I have difficulty determining some of the stitches. Cabling is particularly odd-looking with this yarn. 2. This yarn is very unforgiving of mistakes. You will not be able to rip back very far at all before the yarn becomes threadbare. Even tinking back noticeably reduces the quality and thickness of the yarn. String begins to appear. This yarn is not recommended for beginners or complicated patterns that may require undoing. 3. Very slick needles must be used to prevent deterioration of the yarn. I started my project using Knitpro Symfonie needles (made from highly polished birchwood). I noticed that even these high quality wooden needles were rubbing the yarn, making it thinner. I switched to Knitpro Nova and the yarn retained its integrity and thickness. Addi Premium would probably work well too. Avoid any needles that rub the yarn in even the smallest degree. 4. The manufacturer recommends tying a knot in the end to prevent "fraying", however the ends cannot be woven in with a knot in the yarn. It does not exactly fray anyway, the yarn simply slides off the end leaving bare string. 5. Loose knitters may have a problem getting good tension with this yarn. Purl stitches in particular are over-large and protrude forward rather than sit back. The knit stitches sit back instead. Overall, providing the above observations are taken into consideration, this yarn CAN produce a soft, warm comfortable fabric. However it is not recommended for beginners, who may need to rip or tink back frequently, and I don't know how long it will be before a garment produced with this yarn will become threadbare, as even working it with the wrong type of needles will begin to do that.
