The waffle maker started sticking after a short time of use, and the non-stick surface has begun to flake off into the food. Very disappointed with the quality

I love the color, the quality is so so. You have to use lots of oil or it doesn't open easily. There is no way to tighten the screws and the top doesn't quite match the bottom.

It seems if you use lots of oil then the waffles taste relatively normal but even with cleaning and oiling it gives the waffles a bitter taste. Have cooked two batches on this and all have a bitter taste. Unfortunate because its so cute!

This is my first waffle iron, so maybe they're all like that, but after months of use the strong plastic smell is still always there and it's just as strong regardless of cleaning. Sometimes it makes waffles bitter...

Tried this out but the coating on this product is pure poison. Before cooking I washed with soapy cloth and warm water. Made a first waffle as a tester and threw it out to make sure not to eat whatever the batter absorbed. But even the following waffles all tasted awfully BITTER! I don't know how many I'd have to throw away before this poison wears out and stops absorbing into waffle batter. I make sure to use the same batter and fry pan a pancake and THAT one tasted fine. So the bitterness definitely came from the non-stick coating. Gross.
