This is the product I have been searching for years. It restores many things but I tried it on my 40 year old Musket Brown Alcoa Aluminum down spouts ,soffit and fascia, Brown faded aluminum around my windows and trim around doors. Shines like better than new!! It has been on the aluminum for about 8 months and it hasn’t faded or showed any signs of peeling or yellowing. It is an oil like product that dries to a shine . I tried different application methods and for me the sponge paint brushes worked the best. Nice and smooth. Select the width depending on what you are using it on. I have a 1997 Gator and it’s always been garage kept but the green plastic showed its age. Shiny like new although obviously it doesn’t take out scratches in the soft plastic. This product is a game changer… between a plastic and rubber dressing and a clear paint. I am a happy camper and… a little goes a long way! Review: Does what it says it’s gonna do ! - A little expensive, but I have to admit that this is the first one that actually does what it says . It soaks in to the driest fender flyers on my jeep that looked like they were really about to crack and fall off and now they’re not like new, but they’re flexible again and they are beautiful to look at nice and dark and hold up even I noticed after I went in the mud and had a power wash it off it still looked nice and dark. Damn, they’re like new. I’ll probably put a second coat because mine were really really bad but yeah this is a good product. It does what it says. Many have used it with great success, but I've recently tried this along with a heat gun, and DuPont grey bumper trim paint on my 2000 Honda CR-V. I would recommend the DuPont bumper trim paint over everything else. Polytrol is uneven and very time consuming to get right. Although I'm sure it works on small applications, it will be very difficult to get right on large items, especially a bumper. **Q: How well does this work of exterior wood panel siding that has faded?** A: I used this on a red fibre glass chair and it has a strong chemical smell and it was creepy, a lot of work and sticky and it did not really work in my opinion. I didn't like it but I couldn't send it back, it's a poisonous liquid and I would have had to pay for shipping. If you can, spare yourself, and use a natural oil to bring back the lustre in your wood. **Q: Any special considerations for use on a thule rooftop box? Does this run un the rain or anything?** A: No this will not run in the rain. Make sure the area is clean and dry before application. Afetr applcation leave to dry for 24-48 hours before use **Q: Would this restore faded polywood furniture?** A: We are not sure it will work on Polywood as it very much depends on how much plastic is present in the product. It also depends on whether the polywood has a UV clear protective coating on it, which would prevent the Polytrol from getting at the colored surface underneath it. It’s just a little expensive. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Product and Results *by J***J on June 9, 2025* Used on my 2019 Club Car Precedent trim. Very easy to apply and so far exactly as represented and looks great. After power washing the trim to remove old buildup, I let it dry for 24 hours, then applied with a foam brush and waited the 20 mins as directed and then wiped off any excess or minor drips. Overnight it dried completely and it is not tacky or sticky. Will be interesting to see how it holds up in the Florida sun over the summer.
