I see a lot of reviews showing old out of date units received.** A: Ordered in January 2017. Date of manufacture: October 2003. People must be careful when ordering these, especially from third party sellers. I bought one from a third party seller for a ridiculously low price -- big mistake, as the unit was over 13 years old! (Note: The date of manufacture is on a label on the BACK of the unit, which is not visible when the unit is encased in its original packaging. There is no way to know the date of manufacture unless you physically remove the unit from its hermetically sealed packaging and examine the label on the back of the unit.) **Q: Can the alarm funtion be disabled? i want to use in a space where i want higher than normal levels of co2.** A: Do NOT simply clip one wire to the transducer as in a smarter device a monitoring voltage may discover the alarm is disabled and disarm the monitor entirely. Depending on construction, you also should not remove any coating from a pcb and unsolder the correct terminal. That would probably break the alsrm and a federal statute. **Q: The Kiddi web site says this has a 10 year life and 10 year warranty for this model900-0076. Are these old ones that your selling?** A: My old one lasted 7years 5 days 36 minutes. I just put the new models in and they work fine. As far as how long they warranty 10 years. **Q: Can someone explain how to insert the battery?** A: Remove unit from packaging and turn unit so the AC power connector is facing you. There is a U shaped section around the AC connector with a series of dashes on both upright section. Push both of those towards the opposite end of the unit. This will unlock the U shaped cover. Remove the cover. My unit came with mounting screws and a drier pack that where inside the battery compartment. The connector for the battery is visible after removing the items in the compartment.
