At long last, the classic Steely Dan catalog is back on vinyl. Led by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan released 7 albums from 1972-1980. The vinyl series kicks off with Can't Buy a Thrill (celebrating its 50th-anniversary) which features the band's breakthrough hits, "Do It Again," "Reelin' in the Years," and the recently viral, "Dirty Work." Available on 180g black vinyl. Review: Amazingly, terrific pressing of a terrificly awesomely amazing album - I'm not a huge Steely Dan fan but this is my favorite album of there's and one of the distinct few albums that I consider perfect. Not a bad song, excellent production and mixing, etc. Decided to pick this up and am blown away by how amazing it sounds. Absolutely no surface noice, deep bass, perfect mids, and stratospheric highs. I have a lot of vinyl, original pressings, rereleases, remixes, etc. and this is definitely one of the best sounding albums I own. I have some MOFI albums and this version ranks with them. I'm amazed at how great it sounds. Not sure of the other versions available but the one I have is the Geffen 2022 version. Seriously pick this up if you even just casually like Steely Dan and this album. Due to how great this one sounds, I may just buy the rest of the albums of theirs released by Geffen. Primo album, sound, and packaging. Nice stock and the artwork looks crisp. Man, this vinyl made me love this album even more. Review: great album - A+ SERVICE

Steely Dan's Best Album
Although nobody can debate the musical masterpiece that is Aja, this album is amazing. The first album by the band and a great collection of songs.

Can’t Buy A Thrill(Digital Remaster For Vinyl)
Earlier this year it was announced that the Steely Dan catalog would be remastered and released, one by Analog Productions with their One Step Process(UHQR) for $150 + shipping, the other by Universal digitally remastered for vinyl for $25. We’ve had experience with Universal releases and always had a good experience. As far as Analog Productions, absolutely incredible sound and quality. The last one we had experienced was “Bluesy Burrell” by Kenny Burrell for only $40 and cannot recommend it enough. However, the average listener with the average turntable and system, can’t justify $150 + for record unless your mad at your money. Universal’s “Can’t Buy A Thrill,”is sufficient enough, trust us. When we received our copy(LATE by the way, thanks Amazon), we were pleased with the card stock and the vinyl was quiet and perfectly pressed flat. It sounded great and played great like many of the other Universal releases we’ve had. For $25, it’s a bargain and no one should be disappointed. Anyone that says that they are, they’re lying t themselves. Everything is there-bottom, mids and top end, it doesn’t miss a beat.🎧

Check the other reviews, there appears to be serious QC issues
Unfortunately didn't get a chance to give this a play before the return window closed, which is totally my fault. However, I wish I'd read the other 1⭐ reviews before purchasing. The first track, "Do It Again" skipped a lot on first play, so I stopped the record and checked for dust. It continued to have the same issues. Other songs also skipped or contained pops. Such a bummer since I was excited to own this classic album on Vinyl but this version is nearly unlistenable with all of the distractions from the flaws and imperfections. Buyer beware

Excellent sound quality with Some pressing issues
Excellent sound quality, not as good a pressing though and that's the only reason for only 4 stars. I had to return the first order due to a pressung issue right before the last song on side 1. When I got the replacement record it had the very same issue in the exact same spot right befire the last song on side 1 where the needle keeps skipping backwards where it will play no further & stays between songs. I didn't want to go thru the hassle of returning it again because the sound quality is excellent and I don't feel the need too. It could be just my luck but I sure would like to know if anyone else has this same issue ? Other than that its fantastic vinyl !

A brilliant reissue
Sound quality is top drawer. I bought this as a second copy for my mid-70s reissue.

Excellent mastering and pressing
This review is for the 2022 Vinyl release of Steely Dan's "Can't Buy A Thrill" For some reason, Steely Dan decided to sit out the vinyl revival until now. In 2022, we are finally seeing a re-issue series. "Can't Buy A Thrill" is their debut album and leads off the campaign. This release is a winner. The sound is great, nicely balanced. The pressing is very quiet and flat. Bernie Grundman did a digital re-master from the original tapes, which was used to cut the LP, so it's not AAA, but you'd never know. I'm very satisfied, and will definitely be picking up future titles in the series.
