Govee Smart Electric Kettle, WiFi Variable Temperature Gooseneck Tea Kettle

The pouring on this is amazing for matcha but if you’re someone who likes a quick pour and be done with it, this might not be for you. If you try to pour faster it will pour out of other places and likely get everywhere so this kind of spout definitely requires some patience. I personally love it and the size is great, it can heat about 4 cups of water at a time. The app is awesome and the good feature has come in handy so many times as I often forget that I turned the kettle on. Also being able to set specific temperatures and save settings is also such a great feature. It’s easy to clean, looks great and functions fantastically!

Very easy to setup and connect to WiFi. Easy to use and clean. Fast heating. Color matches perfectly in my kitchen. I just love this. I am drinking more of my favorite teas every day.

This is a phenomenal kettle and it shows by the sheer amount of reviews and also the fact that it's mentioned on several other site reviews.PROs:- I love the way it's simple to use for both techies (like myself) and non-techies.- You can use the buttons on the heating base to choose basic temperature options such as DIY (this is for specific temperatures but you need the app), green tea (180 F), Oolong Tea (195 F), Coffee (205 F), and Black Tea/Boil (212 F). For those that want more, you can download the app, pair the kettle with your wifi/bluetooth, and you're good to go!-The best part is you can set it to keep warm and keep your temperature for up to 2hrs! This is good for those of us who like to multitask and don't want to start the boil all over again- The kettle also features a low water detection. So if you're getting carried away with using it from your phone and forget to add water, it won't burn itself out.Coffee Enthusiasts:Many times coffee recipes like Aeropress, Chemex, 360, Pour Over, French Press, etc will have specific temperatures to brew your coffee which does have a very important impact on level of extraction. This will sometimes conflict with the default setting of 205 F. Thus, this kettle will let you choose your exact temperature (via app only) and you'll be well on your way. You can press the DIY button or honestly just move the temperature slider in the app and you're golden.Overall this is a great product and worth the price even without the coupon. I do not understand why some of the popular kettles like Fellow's STAG or Corvo (I have two of their other products which I really enjoy. One of which is shown in the 2nd photo) cost so much.CONs:The only thing I dislike is the size of the kettle. Often times this is the case with gooseneck kettles but I can live with this. I just wished it was a bit bigger capacity.

I bought this to replace my larger multi-temperature kettle because of the gooseneck spout, which is better for gaiwan brewing. I like the smaller size and matte black finish. It heats up very quickly and the keep-warm feature works well. I really like the app, and the ability to customize the temperature in addition to the presets. It connected easily to WiFi but Alexa won’t recognize it (that’s an Alexa problem). Note that if you live at a high altitude, as I do, your boil will stop at a lower temp, just like any other method. I’m at approximately 6500 feet and my water only heats to 201, but that doesn’t affect the tea.

We had the plastic Govee kettle and I really like it but my wife didn't want plastic so we bought this one. It is good and bad. I prefer the size of the other one and the clear strip on the side to see how full it is which this one doesn't have. Here are my pluses and minuses for this kettle.Pluses:- All metal so no issues with microplastics- Heats up quickly- I really like the gooseneck for my pour overs. Much better than our prior plastic Govee kettle because it tended to just dump the water out so less control. This one pours very nicely- Connects easily to Google Home set up so I can just ask it to turn on the kettle from anywhere in the house but the plastic Govee was the same.Minuses:- Small. When my wife and I need to do a pour over before leaving for work, there isn't enough water so we need to add more and heat up. Our prior Govee plastic one was plenty large.- You need two hands to open it. You have to hold the kettle with one hand and pull the lid off with the other and it can really stick to it. The plastic one was just a button to push and the top opened. This doesn't sound like much but just an inconvenience when you are holding our fridge filtered water pitcher and have to set it down, use two hands to open the kettle, and then pour...not a huge deal but just annoying- You have to open it to see the water level.- The Govee app doesn't let you set an ongoing schedule to start the kettle. You can set it to start the next morning but that is it...not every morning at the same time but when I wake up, I just say, "Hey Google, turn on the kettle" and it starts..so not a huge deal.Still trying to decide if we will keep it or return it. We really like it but don't like the size, two hands to open, and can't see the water level without opening it but do like the time to heat and nice pouring from the gooseneck.
