Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION Soft-Close Hinges, 110 degree, Self closing, Face Frame, with Mounting Plates (Inset - 4 pack)

I rarely (if ever) review products – but I had to comment on several of the less than stellar reviews. First off I use Blum hinges on all my projects and they are a very good quality, reliable hinges.1. These hinges are for INSET doors – as it clearly states in the product description.2. The instruction sheet is provided as part of the product description (it is the third image).3. The hinges will indeed work with a 1-1/2” face frame – which is the minimum (they need ~1/2” from the inside of the cabinet to the edge of the face frame but the door hole needs to be drilled in the proper location and the hinges adjusted to achieve the required reveal (the adjustment screw is the one nearest to the door)I usually shoot for just under 1/16” reveal (i.e., 1.5mm). For this the center door hole should be drilled about 13/16” from the edge of the door (assuming a 1-3/8’ bore). The hinges are adjustable and can be adjusted down to a reveal of ~ 1/32’ using these dimensions. (note these dimensions are +/- fractional approximations of the instructions which are in mm).I’ll be the first to admit the instructions could be a bit clearer – but these hinges will do the trick

These are amazing. I used them on full-inset doors on a custom cabinet and they're SO forgiving...you can adjust just about any way to get a perfect looking fit. And soft close to boot.

These are my go to hinges for inset cabinet doors on built-ins. Super easy to setup, with lots of adjustability. The screws that come with them are not the best, as they will strip quite easily. But with careful install they will work. They don't come with instructions, just the hinges. So you may have to watch a video or two if it's your first time.

Installed on framed inset cabinet doors. Good quality. Work very well, soft close is nice. Used Kreg hinge jig.24” tall x 22” wide raised panel door. Located hinge centers 3-1/2” from top and bottom, and edge of hinge cup 5mm from door edge (3/32” door reveal). When locating brackets on frame, distance to bracket center from top and bottom of door opening must include door reveal.Install hinges AFTER trimming door to fit opening.No installation instructions included but available on-line. All 8 hinge halves shipped in one plastic bag. Bag of only 13 screws included (16 screws are required!), but do not use these beveled head screws on the flat frame bracket (ok on the door side). Instead use flat flanged 3/4” screws (Kreg pocket joint or GRK cabinet screws).

We used this hinges to finish installing our inset cabinet doors. They were super easy to install - I screwed in the door hinge and then for the cabinet hinge, I measured and used painters tape to tape them in the exact place. I reached through with the drill and drilled in the screws. And then I was able to just pop the door onto the cabinet side of the hinge. I also adjusted some of the hinges so the doors would sit right. 10/10 will buy these again when we do our mudroom and pantry

I’ve been using Blum hinges for decades. I can’t say enough good things about them. I rarely use butt hinges or actually any other kind of hinge anymore because of all the usual adjustments necessary when hanging cabinet doors, a task where the “Euro hinge” and especially a Blum hinge is far superior for the simple fact that they can be adjusted up, down, in and out with the turning of theappropriate screw. And you can’t beat the self-close feature that eliminates the need for a catch. As for the soft close, the time that the door takes to return to its closed position can feel long and in a busy kitchen there are times when you’d want the door out of the way quickly. I believe the speed of the close can be adjusted or eliminated, which would be nice.

I've used the face frame mounting hardware along with the half crank hinges to mount multiple inset doors. These mounting brackets have one major flaw: they make the door stick out proud of the face frame by 1-2mm at the maximum distance back on the brackets. Every single time I need to shim them back a bit to make them perfectly flush with the face frame. The face frame brackets need additional travel "into" the cabinet to avoid this on 3/4"/19mm stock.
