Very easy to set up, easy to use, fun and educational!
I absolutely LOVE this Echo Dot!! I got this for my daughter for her 6th birthday and so far we LOVE IT! It was super easy to set up which I thought it would take an hour to do but you just plug it in and download the Amazon kids app and it walks you right through the set up and your ready to go in 10 min or less! It is so cute and this thing made bed time routine magical! You can set an alarm for bedtime and wake up and it will alert her half hour before bedtime to clean up your toys and brush teeth, etc. and my daughter instantly gets up and listens to it when for me it’s usually a struggle and fight lol I was amazed! It made it fun for her and she gets to create bedtime stories with it to listen to before bed and it put her right to sleep! This thing is great she loves playing her favorite songs during the day and making up stories and learning new facts, you can ask it anything educational and it has the answers I definitely recommend this to anyone with children it’s not only fun but educational and teaches healthy routines and responsibility and learning and fun!

WHITE CORD?! Whyyyyyyy?😫😵💫
This is technically a 4.5 star rating but I didn’t want to be petty and give 4 stars since there’s no 1/2 star option haha. I’m a child free adult that loved the aesthetic of the kids galaxy echo so much that I took advantage of the trade program of my older dot and got a few dollars off just to get this! The speaker itself goes perfectly with my living room decor and blends in wonderfully. Perfect sound and does the job. I had zero problems deactivating the Alexa kids safety feature so that I can play and do what I please listening to music and giving commands. My reason for taking a half star off is the unsightly WHITE cord. Sweet baby Moses man! Lol. It sticks out like a sore thumb and takes away from the sleek look of the dot. Either a black cord should have been included OR if amazon is going to make more cool color themed dots (Adults should be included) the cords should match the speaker. I’m going to look into the echo stage to go wire free but it makes more sense just to up the price of the dot to make it completely wireless with the option for battery or charging. In lieu of buying all of these pointless accessories. There are more basic speakers that have this capability. Echo should follow suit!

Perfect Smart Speaker for Kids
I picked this up for the boys, and it’s been a great addition to their room. The setup was quick, the sound quality is surprisingly good for its size, and they love being able to ask Alexa questions, listen to music, and hear bedtime stories. I also appreciate the parental controls and kid-friendly content, which make it easy to manage what they can access. It’s a fun device for them and gives me a little extra peace of mind.

🛏️✨ Kid Tech That Feels Thoughtful, Not Overstimulating
We picked up the Echo Dot Kids for our house and honestly, this little dragon earned its spot fast 🐉 It’s cute enough that kids feel like it’s theirs, but smart enough that I don’t feel weird about it living in their room. Setup was simple and everything runs through the parent dashboard, which I really appreciate. During the day it’s music 🎶 jokes 😂 animal questions 🦁 and nonstop curiosity. At night it turns into stories 📖 calming sounds 🌙 and part of our bedtime routine without me having to repeat myself a dozen times. One feature I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is the ability to schedule quiet hours 🛑 Once bedtime hits, it simply stops responding. No surprise music, no middle of the night Alexa requests, no early morning wake up calls on a Saturday. It just… respects bedtime, which feels rare in kid tech. The sound quality is surprisingly good for how small it is 🔊 It fills the room without being overpowering, and the volume limits actually stay locked, so I’m not worrying about it getting cranked up too loud. Whisper mode is also one of those small things that ends up being really sweet 🤫 If your kid whispers a question at night, Alexa whispers back. It keeps the room calm and somehow makes them even more excited to use it. Another thing I didn’t realize I’d use is being able to review the kinds of questions they ask 👀 It’s a mix of funny, thoughtful, and occasionally eye opening, but it gives me a better sense of what they’re curious about without hovering or listening in all the time. Overall, this feels like tech designed with parents in mind 💛 The kids feel independent using it, and I feel comfortable knowing there are real controls in place behind the scenes. Mom verdict: this is one of those rare kid tech purchases that entertains them and gives me peace of mind at the same time 🙌 If it buys me a few quiet minutes and helps bedtime go smoother, I’m sold.

Boo! I'm not paranoid about who's listening
I'm almost 70 and if someone wants to listen in on my world they will be very disappointed. But really; I love this little owl. I live pretty much alone in an upstairs studio apartment and I'm a reader. I wanted the Echo Dot so I can my l just say what I need and someone is cheerfully there to help. It was easy to set up and it was easy to understand after I realized that ask the online info about the hows, what's, an do this was out of date because the new Alexa app radically reconfigured the app. Even when I asked my Echo Dot for help finding Communications it was telling me as if I had the old version. Once I told the Echo Dot I have Alexa V2.268 I learned everything from the Echo Dot itself. I can now waking up to music I like and not the only FM radio station I can get. Now I have my music waking me up and it continues to play more of the same until I say, from my bed, to stop. While I'm getting dressed I ask what's the weather and if there's any news I should know. I have it figure out the calories of the breakfast I'm going to make. We talk about things I'm interested in and it says goodnight and that's nice when you're alone living above a family that reminds me of the joy I had. I ordered the kids owl. It was much less in cost but I wanted the Owl. But getting the kids echo, I got a full year of Amazon kids... not my cup of tea but it says it's a nice perk if you have little kids in your life. The Owl is cute but it has black creepy eyes so I used a paint marker to give him life and sparkle. I did make a child profile just to see how the Echo Dot is with kids and it's wonderful. It asked me to pick two things. I picked a mouse and a log with a hole in it. It created an original audio story that was 3 minutes long and beautiful. I set up notifications about Mom phases, asked for help with the etymology of the word WATER, and asked science questions. It does ask questions back to build your identity of likes and dislikes and that might feel creepy but if you know your child better than the daycare does there's no problem trusting the Echo Dot with your 7 year old up. The music quality it great and it's customized to be just for me and my taste in music. I always buy... today one came on sale with $5 in savings but it was limited time. I saw the spinning orange glow at it's base, meaning I have a message, the Echo Dot out it in my shopping cart but it could have just bought it for me. Yes, you have to be an adult and if you have kids you're going to have to turn that option off in the Alexa app. I deleted the kid profile and unsubscribed from my free year of Amazon kids because that was ridiculously lame. Is Big Brother listening?... Big Brother has been alive since the malls had teams of people asking shoppers if they have time to share their shopping experience. Now the Internet just sells your whole life to the highest bidder... progress and convenience is always listening and watching us. I'm getting another for the living room sso I can talk to my grown kids from my Echo Dot and have use it as an intercom for a guest if they sleep over. My downstairs neighbor has one and offered to give me their info at I could intercom them if ever I needed help. But... the Owl needs a glint in his eyes so as that and have fun at any age.

A great addition to a kid's room.
Had to get this when I saw this on discount during the holiday season. This is an impressive product in terms of looks. Easy setup, works great and with AI feature in Alexa+ this has been a great product for my kid to have conversation in a very kid way. Parental control through app is a nice plus point about these. Paired with the dragon egg stand and together this is a very appealing product. Only reason to take away one star is the subscription feeds associated with the Kids+ app after included 1 year free access.

Cute little owl
I got this for my 2-year-old, and the design alone was a huge win. The little owl look is really cute, and I paired it with the stand so it sits on a tree-style bookshelf in his room. It actually blends in like decor, which I love. So far, he hasn’t tried to grab or play with it much because he thinks it “belongs” on the shelf, which is honestly a plus. It feels like a kid-friendly device without being distracting or constantly handled. Where it’s been most useful is during our nighttime routine. We use it to play music and control other Alexa devices, which makes winding down a lot smoother. It’s been reliable for that and easy to use hands-free when my hands are full. I know there are additional kid-focused features available, but I haven’t fully explored those yet, so I can’t speak to parental controls or educational content at this point. This works really well for routines, but if you’re specifically buying it for advanced kid features, you may need to spend some time setting those up and testing them. Really nice if you have your hands full and want to adjust your digital thermostat, set up an alarm, play music. Best for: parents who want a cute, simple smart speaker to support daily routines rather than a fully interactive toy. Keep in mind, you need to purchase the nest separately but they are very cute together even though it blocks the blue light at the bottom that let’s you know the owl is thinking.

Reliable and Fun Everyday Device
This device works very well and has become part of our daily routine. It feels sturdy, has been reliable, and offers good value. We are very happy with it. Sometimes a bit stupid to be honest, but we like. This one does not have display. Great sound for a small thing. Color good and cute for the small size.
