VIVO Black 12U Freestanding Server Rack Cart, CART-SR12U

Purchased the 25U model. Features: The rack is sturdy, casters that it comes with work well, labels are nicely printed, and I especially like the adjustable depth. Color: The color is a bit of a dark gray, not quite as black as it appears in the product shot and description. Compared to a couple of black StarTech shelves that I have installed, the color difference is noticeable, but I wouldn't describe it as striking. Assembly: The product was well packaged and assembled easily--about 45-60 minutes to unbox and put it together. Sizing: I debated getting the smaller 12U rack at first, but I'm glad that I picked this larger one for a home lab setup. Lots of room for storage and expansion, and easily moved around when I need to get behind it. Value: ~28% cheaper than the similar StarTech 25U open-frame. Looks to be pretty much the same, minus hardware paint differences. Minor scratches: Despite how well the rack was packaged for shipment, while I was unwrapping the pieces from their bubble wrap, I was surprised to see that there were several surface scratches in the finish, mostly indicative of a rushed prior assembly--maybe during a QA assembly, or maybe from a customer return. Either way, I decided not to send the rack back on account of these defects, as most, but not all, would not be visible when the rack was fully assembled and sending it back would be a pain. Images of nice packaging and scratched piece attached for reference. TL;DR: Overall, I'm happy with the value of the rack, and if you're looking for a rack for your home lab or small business setup, this is a good choice. Tip: As with most assembly, loosely assemble the rack--hand tight to make it square. Then when its together start wrenching the nuts and bolts down. Use a socket wrench and big screwdriver.

All the 5 star reviews are CORRECT!! 2 issues i had, which had nothing to do with the manufacturer were. 1 - shipping damage - very minor bend on one of the bottom cross member, easily tapped it straight with a small hammer 2 - When on rollers it is not perfectly level, it rocks a little bit BUT, it could have been tweaked in shipping or I may not have gotten all the casters tightened evenly - once i engage the leveling feet it should be fine. ***Pic added with names on my equipment blurred** As an IT guy i have a full rack in my garage, 42u. I needed something smaller than that but bigger then the current 12u rack AND... not $350-500 either.. This Rack is perfect, it is sturdy and heavy as heck. Assembly is pretty easy, though i used my own tools - 14mm wrench (the ratcheting kind) and a 10mm 1/4 socket so it went pretty smooth.. I read one review where someone mentioned "Lock Washers" - Yeah, definitely would have wanted lock washers, especially on the casters.. Speaking of Casters, they roll very smooth on hard wood.. Once i get all my gear in the rack i will post pics but if you are considering this - JUST DO IT! I really have nothing bad to say, i have not found anything wrong or sub-par yet... I give Credit to Fedex, dude placed it the from door (1 week early i might add) like it was nothing, i went to pick it up and woah #$%^&&*.

The assembly process was relatively straightforward, and the quality of the materials is good. In terms of "performance", I've been using this rack in my home server setup for over a year now, and it's held up well under normal use. The adjustable frame and wheeled mobile design make it easy to integrate with various network servers. I haven't encountered any major issues with cabling or hardware failures so far, as it included grounding cables. Overall, a solid option, a reasonable size, but perhaps not everyone's first choice given the price. That said, it won't be leaving it's new home in our living room any time soon.

I was skeptical considering the lack of reviews, but decided to pull the trigger after another 12u rack I purchased was damaged in shipment. And it worked out! This is my first review it worked out that well... hah. Dollar for dollar, you can't beat this rack for it's quality - frame is thick, powder coating is thick and durable, and it was pretty easy to assemble (but I'd suggest two people to make assembly and equipment installation easier on your back). Height wise, with the casters, this thing is just about 28 inches tall - assuming if you're getting as 12u rack, you're pressed for space like I am - and this thing just fit where I needed it too. It's not perfect - the casters are going to hold up moving around every now and then on a hard surface, but if you are moving this thing around on a regular basis, I'd upgrade those. Oh... and the cage nuts? They're hit or miss in their fitment (some are really difficult to install/remove, while others you wonder if they'll hold in your equipment) but the fasteners seem durable, so there is that! Overall... it's a buy. If you need a networking rack with a small vertical footprint, pull the trigger!

I absolutely love it. It’s exactly as described. 1200lb weight limit is plenty to fill this with poweredge servers. I assembled it in no time with easy instructions. It’s super stable and strong. I can sit on it with no issues.

Overall a nice hefty chunk of metal to mount your hobby into. I'm expecting it should be OK with a 2U PSU, we shall see. Features I like: -The metal is a good gauge, solid and sturdy, feels quality -plenty of fasteners, a few extra of each -a stamped metal wrench "tool" included -markings on the rack are clear, but not so obvious that they are garish -the fit is good, screw holes are in the right place, everything lines up, nothing was bent -the casters roll well, have descent bearings - it comes with plenty of mounting hardware for 12 units - powdercoat is good Some misses: - Hex head screws should come with washers, always - the caster nuts should be nylon or use a lock washer - it would be good if the pieces had a little label sticker A, B, C, D. Once you realize the longer end of the corner rails is down, everything can really only go together one way - packing could be better. A few minor scratches, and the box was shredded, but nothing was bent - instructions are OK, but some labeling and "this end up" would help What you will need: - A 14mm wrench (the included one will work, but it's crap) - A 10mm wrench (same comment) - A large and small Phillips screwdriver.

Easy to assemble, easy to move around with the wheels attached, the quality looks and feels great, and plenty of space to accommodate my equipment. It’s not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Well worth its price. I’m going to repeat myself, but I cannot stress enough how easy it was to put this thing together. Just a few screws and fitting the pieces to their spots like legos. Mostly did it myself with some help holding up some parts when bringing it all together. I dread putting things like this together due to all the parts and screws, but this as minimal as could probably be. Maybe like an hour and a half to get the 25U done. Someone more handy can probably get it done quicker

I had been trying to find. a small server rack for some equipment I have for work to stop balancing them on other things to get them off the floor. I gave up on buying something used as the prices were just ridiculous, I happened upon this rack and purchased it even though it didn't have many reviews. Assembly was straight forward and everything was included other than a Phillips screw driver. The side pieces for adjusting the depth are well made and marked to simplify getting a consistent build. It also includes a bunch of rack nuts and screws for mounting things, however after dealing with thousands of rack nuts I went with Rackstuds instead. I mounted a couple of shelves to hold my network switches, my Synology NAS, and some NUCs. I then have my 2 Dell XR12 mounted, the Dell rails clicked right in just as they would on a big name brand rack. Seems rock solid and a great improvement over what I had, forgive the mess in the photos as my next task is to 3D print some cable management trays and organize a bit.

Works great… it holds 4 dl380 gen9 with no problems!

Quality price it’s a 5 but I’m giving it 4 for the following reasons: 1) low quality wheels not sure I’d trust 1200lbs on them. 2) plastic side cable management 3) mid level quality rack nuts The rack itself is sturdy and well built. I didn’t need the instructions to assemble it. I’d highly recommend this rack for the quality/price ratio. If the items above could be addressed, it would an extremely fabulous rack but then it would probably cost more. Bottom line. You can’t really go wrong with it.

This is a very sturdy rack. From what I can tell, it is identical to the Startech except for the bottom frame where the casters and levelling feet attach. Steel thickness is around 2.2mm for all parts including paint (this is a hair under 13 gauge). Any sag on equipment reasonably hung from only one end is entirely from flex in the rack ears and the rackstuds I'm using. Just make sure to tighten the fasteners with a proper tool rather than the cheap stamped steel wrench included in the package, and there will be no movement once fully assembled. Packaging was excellent. Double boxed, with each piece individual wrapped. The main downside is that assembly will take some time with lots of partially tightening things and tapping with a mallet to ensure all the vertical rails are parallel with the correct spacing. This mostly comes from how the front and back pieces of the bottom frame where made; the studs the casters mount to look like they deformed the steel slightly. I may be being picky here, but this is going to matter for some users.
