Does this handle multiple voltages and amperages? for example, a few leds on one connection, a dc motor on the other, a servo on the other?

This box is sort of like a power strip that happens to have fuses for each "outlet".  The input and output voltage are always the same.  Anderson power poles are usually used for 12V DC systems.  It sounds like you may need something more complex if you need to transform voltage.  I use this for amateur radio equipment where I feed this from a 12V 35A power supply or a 12V battery.  In my use case one piece of gear might only sip .1A, where a transceiver might pull 20A at peak transmit power, so I put each device on a set of poles with an appropriate fuse and they both get 12V from the supply. Does this have the over under led lights and if so how do you set the volt limits?

No under and over LED, but the LED does come on if the corresponding fuse is blown

I'm going to plug this power distribution brick into a portable power station (not a battery); does this brick need to be grounded?

If you want to be super safe, the metal on this distribution block could be grounded. But, it is not necessary and most people dont ground it

What guage of wire is required to run from a 12v truck battery to this unit? I know  length matters for the size of guage but is there a minimum guage

Accepted Answer

Base it on total amp load + 20% or more. Use the right fuses based on wire sizing(very important) based on load. Amps are the power, volts just drive them. 10A-16g, 15A-14g, 20A-12g, 30A-10g, 40A-8g, 50A-6g. Longer runs cause greater voltage drop which is hard on equipment and creates more heat which can be dangerous. Run 2 smaller wires crimped together at each end. Larger wire can also tolerate rougher conditions. Stationary can be solid wire but moving stuff needs stranded wire. Neat fact the electrons run on the outside of the wire.
