**Q: Has anyone tried both this unit and the plunger type?   How did they compare?**
A: I don't know what a plunger is. all i know is we tried another brand mandolin and my wife feels this is the best constructed and safest she's ever used.

**Q: can it make french fries?**
A: Of course, the thickness of the french fries is about 5mm, our slicer can cut strips, slices, shreds, and cubes of any thickness within the range of 0.1-8mm, without the need to switch blades.

The operation is as follows: just turn the big knob on the back to the 5mm scale, and turn any small knob 360 degrees clockwise. If you have any questions about use, please feel free to contact our customer service, we will help you at the first Solve the problem.

A: Mine does potatoes really good.

Safe. Well made. Fairly straightforward to use. But don't expect to have round carrots, or round anything, as the angle of the chute is sloping, only the first few cuts are actually round. The further down the carrot you get the more oval the slices get. It cuts easily and quickly, and I found it useful for slicing up cooking apples for in an apple pie, but I didn't care what shape they came out so that's fine. I would like to have been able to dice with this machine, so am inclined to wish I'd shopped around a bit more before buying it. For safety reasons I highly recommend it.
