10yo NEPHEW LOVED IT
This has a very simple construction, which is all it needs. The wind is basically a cardboard tube, so if you have a kid that’s rough on toys, maybe won’t last so long. But I’m sure my nephew will have used for years. It really does seem like magic! And a good teaching tool, if you wanted it to be. GREAT!

Great science toy
this thing is like magic! powered by static electricity, the little foil shapes fly. The foils are a little tricky to remove from thier backing and they can easily rip or get damaged, so only play with one at a time. But super fun!

Shapes are barely recognizable, too flimsy.
Works, kinda. Butterfly worked, none of the other shapes held up. Kids had more fun making their hair stand on end. The shapes are made of some tinsel type material that rips at the slightest touch.

It works, but...
First off, it feels very cheaply made. When I put batteries in the belt spun reasonably well. I then put on the cardboard tube and the belt would not spin at all. I tried new batteries. Same result. The only way it would work is by taping the tube to the plastic with duct tape. Any pressure on the plastic tip would cause the belt to cease turning. I was able to use it in my sped science class and the kids loved playing with it using the included Mylar shapes. The shapes tear almost without a thought but the kids didn't care. So, overall, it works but only after modification.
