My boss has a set of Knipex, I couldnt justify the price of the Knipex and so I got these as a plumber. Ive used the Knipex pliers plenty, they are great pliers and according to my boss have lasted 20 years, and the jaws still look decent, a little worn but impressively less than what you would expect for 20 years. Ive had this set for a couple months now, jaws still look great, only small signs of wear despite being heavily used everyday for the past 2 months. I like that with these you don't have to press in the button to make the jaws smaller (unlike with the Knipex) and can just slide the jaws together. My boss also occasionally grabs for these over his because these have a slightly wider mouth, either a good thing and feels like they grab more, or a not so good thing as they dont fit into quite as tight spaces (just good to be aware of). They have very little side play, again pretty similar to the Knipex. I cant really comment on the longevity of these (but will anyways). They likely wont last 20 years, and Im fine with that seeing as these were 1/3 of the cost of 1 singular Knipex plier/wrench, and they feel like they will last a good amount of time. Overall these feel great, and work great. The design of the jaws makes it so that once they grab whatever you are wanting to grab (usually a nut, bolt, pipe, etc. etc.) you just need to keep applying force to the top handle and you wont lose purchase. Id recommend them, a great step up from standard "channel lock" design for most applications.

I used channel locks just about every day in my job as an industrial boiler technician. I bought this set to replace a set of Knipex Cobras that I lost on the job. Although these Irwin's are relatively well made and function well, they are simply not as good as the Knipex. They just don't grip pipe nearly as well. I find myself having to use a ridiculous amount of pressure with these and they still can't grip as well as the equivalent size Knipex. They are also far thicker which makes them more difficult to get into tight spots. I've been carrying these in my tool bag for the last several months but I just bit the bullet and purchased another set of Cobras. These will be relegated to my home toolbox along with several pairs of Channelock brand and others. The Knipex just can't be beat. If you are buying these as a homeowner for light use around the house, they'll do fine. But for heavy professional use or if you want the best you gotta spend the extra money on the Knipex. They are simply the best channel locks on the market, there is no question about it.

Great pliers. These pliers grip like pit bulls, these saved me several times when more expensive brands couldn't. Well made and comfortable in my hands. Definitely a must have in my tool box.

These are great. My dad used them to help change a plumbing line while my back was hurt. He bought himself a pair immediately afterwards. I keep a set with my motorcycle and car as well
