What type of power supply do you need for it? Amperage? Wattage? ect.

Mine is a 12 volt motor so the power supply voltage is 12 volts. It is in a configutation turning a variable capacitor with e 19:1 gear ration after the built in gearing so the motor is seeing a very small load but i doubt it could create a lot more torque, 4 times that amount is unlikely. In that configuration it draws 18-20 milliampers. Even if the load was 4 times mine, the drain would be less than 100 milliamps. If you have the 12 volt model i suggest something like this. It is 500 milliamps and will be loafing but i can't find anything smaller. If you have a 6 volt motor, look for at least 200 ma, a 3 volt look for at least 400 ma. Volts times amps = power.

I would like to use this as a winch motor to lift a 50lb kayak for storage. Can you recommend a coupling and rope drum that would work?

If you use pullies or gearing well enough, you could do it, but if you're connecting directly to a spool of line and hoping to pull it up directly, then no. Depends on the diameter of the spool and the force required on the rope.

Please provide the dimensions between the mounting holes. Please provide the mounting hole thread size. What is the ratio of gear reduction???

The distance between the mounting holes is 18mm (w) and 33mm (l). I was able to find some fine thread metric machine screws that fit. I don't know the pitch, but the the outer thread diameter is about 3mm. The output shaft diameter is 6mm.

I have a 10lb piece of copper that I want to rotate slowly will this work?

I don’t have one of these motors, but I can tell you that more information is needed to answer your question. What shape is the copper? Is it being turned at its center of gravity? How is it supported? On what axis do you want to rotate it? Will it be a direct drive (1:1) setup? I am reasonably certain that if it is - let’s say - supported on a lazy Susan or a turntable platter and being rotated horizontally, this (if it works at all) would work fine. I turn a 2 to 2.5 lb parts cleaning tub, mounted at a 25 degree angle, with a MUCH smaller 10rpm motor on a direct drive, with the motor shaft directly connected to the center of the platform (mounted on a lazy Susan).

Motor works great, pretty quiet

Adapted the shaft of this motor to a 40" Threaded rod, to spin some 4.5" PVC pipes ( On bearings ) to paint & apply epoxy. Takes 8+ hours for the epoxy to cure, and I ran this on a speed controller, to about 50% speed. 8 hours into it, no problems at all. Sounds quiet, motor/gearbox is a little warm, but far within operating temperatures. About body-temp. When it was new, it did get louder a couple times, for a few seconds. But after the hours of running, I haven't heard it since.

Sorry to say, it burnt up after running 2.5 hours under a lieght load

I was using this as a way to turn a 10oz can, using 2 three inch pulleys. There was no downward pressure, and no to little drag.

The higher the rpm,the less power it has.

I love these little motors! I've been using one of these ( 20 rpm ) for my fishing boat steering device for two years now and it works like new! At first I was skeptical about not being powerful enough but it does the job with no sweat. I bought this one for a spare. The first thing I did when I got it was to open it and check for any little metal slugs that could get caught in the gears. I've seen reviews where that has happened. It was really clean but didn't have enough grease so, I added some plastic safe grease and now it's good to go.

Junk, burned up in 8min.

Turning under 1lb, lasted 8min. Do not buy. It’s also tiny.

It would have been better if the motor came with four mounting screws.

Burned out after 3 days

Wired it to a simple DC 12V 1000 mA plug-in adapter. Attached to a sprocket and chain for a project. Ran ok for the first few hours of use - got really hot though. Turned off for one night. Turned back on the next day and let it run all day and all night - didn't work the next morning. It's dead - disappointing, but it's <$20, so know that you get what you pay for.
