Review: Great Tom Yum Soup Base - Great base for Tom Yum soup! So many possibilities for Veggie, Seafood, or whatever soups and poaching delicate meats and seafood. In fact that is what i did. Made the base with 750 Ml of water (instead of 500-550 per packet), strained the dried ingredients and transferred it to medium rondeau pan with halibut already searing slowly in olive oil. As soon as that heated up to simmer, added bay scallops and straw mushrooms. Few min of gentle poaching, and VOILA!!! Excellent taste. Quick and easy prep for during the week cooking. Something to keep in the pantry for sure, for those days when i crave Tom Yum taste.

Great base for Tom Yum soup! So many possibilities for Veggie, Seafood, or whatever soups and poaching delicate meats and seafood. In fact that is what i did. I really liked that the packet had the real dried versions of the spices that are supposed to go into the soup. I even got my hubby to eat and finish a soup with coconut in it. Something he normally would not do. I think you have a convert. I will order these again.
