Brilliant - No fuss No Scorch
Bought at the beginning of August to replace and old spreader, and ensure I could give the lawn at least one dressing before the end of our apology for a summer. It arrived promptly with concise instructions on how to assemble and use (both easy). It is constructed from sturdy plastic and is well up to the job, and easy to hose down after using. Instructions include information on settings (lever positions) for well know products to ensure correct application on assumption you walk at the recommended rate of 1 metre per second. I set the lever to 0, filled the spreader one third full, placed it on the lawn and reset the lever to the correct position for my lawn feed. I then set off at the recommended rate which I achieved with ease. When reaching the end of the run I simply picked the spreader up, without resetting the lever position to 0, and replaced it for the start of the next run. It did not dump any unwanted lawn feed and there was no scorching. Following some rain it is evident the correct amount of lawn feed has been applied. Brilliant product at a very competitive price.

Takes the guesswork out of caring for my lawn
With a new lawn I was keen to take better care of it this time than with the 30 year old lawn I'd taken up, having sown that from seed all those years ago. I've more time now, but I'm keener to save it and thought this little dispenser would do the trick. It assembles easily enough and has a dinky little stand to hold it upright while filling it, and a rather flimsy-looking yellow lever that is used to select the rate at which the feed goes down onto your lawn when you're striding around feeding it. When I was feeding our old lawn by hand I was never entirely sure I was getting quantities and spread correct, so to have a device that tells you what settings suit what lawn feeds (so long as they're EverGreen products, at least) and what speed to walk (1 metre per second, so a somewhat determined stride!) you are at least in the region of getting it perfect. When laying feed down you need to avoid reversing your course by backing up the feeder, because it'll carry on dispensing and you end up overfeeding, you actually need to keep forward movement and avoid any other kind of manoeuvres! With my oddly-shaped lawn (a bit like a broad boat sail in shape) this meant going around the edge and working in to the centre, after which I stopped and shut down the feeder using the yellow lever, before carrying it off the lawn. Any feed left over can be returned to the container for another time. It's a pretty simple device but unless you have a square lawn you have to plan your tracks a little bit. It loses a star for not being easy to take back down for storage. The stand and the long handle can be dismantled, but the wheels seem to be impossible to remove. I'd rather this kind of space-hogging gadget could break back down into parts and be tucked away somewhere unobtrusive. Because the wheels aren't obviously removable it ends up too large for the box it came in, and will probably end up living outdoors in our garden store, where there's precious little space for it either. It's only used three times per year for at most 30 minutes, it really needs to store less obtrusively. Other than that, it's fit for purpose and the lawn seems to benefit from uniform feeding. Making the job easier makes me far more likely to keep up the chore in future.

Looks like very good value
I understand that it is forbidden to identify competing products in an Amazon review, so all I'll say is that, on the basis of its first outing, this is the best of the three spreaders which I've owned. The design is commendably simple; in particular the mechanism for controlling the rate of flow is positive and straightforward. I set it for the autumn lawn fertilizer that I was using; the area of my lawn is 360 square metres; the bag of fertilizer is supposed to treat 360 square metres; and (guess what?) as I finished the run the fertilizer gave out! (This has not been my experience with other spreaders.) Unlike others, this machine hasn't got a switch enabling you to turn the flow of fertilizer on and off; however, it appears to have a free wheel mechanism, so that if you pull the machine instead of pushing it, the flow ceases. This isn't quite as convenient as having a switch, but with a little ingenuity it's quite easy to put the fertilizer where you want it. It may have been beginner's luck, but, for the present, I'm much impressed. And, in any case, it's not an overly expensive product. Recommended.

Does as it says on the tin
I was recommended to purchase this spreader by an expert in grass. It came well packaged to protect it. It was simple to put together with 5 clicks of 2 wheels, 2 handles and the stand. I don't follow some of the reviews below as the spreader stops spreading once you stop. You then simply bend down to put it on the 0 position to re-fill. I used it 4 days ago and whilst to early to see significant results I can see the blackening of the moss and it does appear the grass is already greening. I have had the lawn hand spread but that is not as consistent or reliable. I recommend you don't do this in the sun as it is easier to see where you have been in shade/grey. Also recommend when you go up and down come back inside the line you went up in so there is a little overlap otherwise you end up like me with some stripes I am going to have to go back over with in due course.

Evergreen spreader - doesn't last
OK but don't last that long. Item required after 4 years as axle rusted away and wheels/rotator bar separated making the item useless. Not easy to remove wheels to dry out. Better design required.

Easy as 1-2-3!
Thank you for such a fantastic product. Arrived on time (thank you Amazon!). The product very easy to put together and even easier to use. I have only used it once (due to weather!) - and it worked absolutely fine. I used it to apply lawn feed and it spread the lawn feed in an even manner. The time and effort it took was very minimal. I have a large garden and it took minutes to apply the lawn feed with this product. Would surely recommend (the price is not too bad either!)

Easy to assemble and use but metal axle prone to rust unless cleaned thoroughly after use
This spreader came with clear instructions and assembled within a couple of minutes without needing any tools. I set the rate control lever to zero and added lawn feed whilst on my patio. I then practised walking at 1 m/s and then applied the lawn feed to my lawn, walking at a steady pace in a cross hatch pattern to ensure that all of the lawn is covered, without under- or over-dosing. After use, I emptied all of the remaining lawn feed back into its container and then washed the spreader with a garden hose, paying particular attention to the axles. My previous EasySpreader failed when the axle became too rusty for the wheels to turn. The spreader is mainly used apply oxygen carrying agents to the lawn such nitrates and phosphates. These are also good at providing oxygen to iron and turning it to rust, so I am not sure why material used for the axle isnโt rust proof. I then left the spreader to dry before returning it to my garden shed. The spreader is good value for money and worked well. I hope it will last a few seasons longer than its predecessor

Growing a lawn made easy.
I was put off from buying this because when you add in the cost of seeds, it can all become rather expensive quickly. However, after spending hours trying to spread grass seed manually over our large lawn and ending up with mounds of seed randomly dotted around, instead of an evenly spread layer across the entire lawn. I opted for this. Took less than 15 minutes, seed spread evenly, and now several weeks have gone by and there are no 'missed lines' in the lawn and it all looks great. Easy to put together and can be stored away easily for future use. The one negative is that it doesn't work when pulling it backwards or turning it causes it to 'dump' a fair amount of seed. So I found my self lifting it up when I reached the edges and turning it around, so as not to waste seed.
