Puresweet Zero Natural Sweetener 1kg - Zero Calorie, Zero GI - No Bitter Aftertaste - Diabetic Friendly, Tooth Friendly - Vegan, Gluten Free & Non-GMO

So, I came across Puresweet a few years ago when it was on Dragon's Den - I've always been a one or two sugars in my coffee/tea person, and all of my attempts to ween off of sugar had failed, sweeteners are often not that nice but even when they are, they generally have nasty ingredients in them. So, when I saw a natural-based product, with no bad ingredients, zero calories, etc, I had to give it a try. Like all sugar-replacements, no it's not exactly the same. Nothing is - but, I stuck with Puresweet due to the make up of it, and what can I say - I've had it on Amazon subscription for years now and if I have a normal sugar in tea or coffee, I actually find it too much and now prefer the Puresweet. It's not bad for your teeth, it's not bad for your insides, and once you've got used to taste (which is the case for any sugar alternative, you have to accept a change in taste) it's not bad for your tastebuds either! Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend this and giving it a go beyond just a few cups of tea/coffee.

Well I can’t rate it high enough, there is definitely no aftertaste. All the other sweeteners say no aftertaste but it’s rubbish the all taste vile, This one however is true to its word, it’s not the sweetest tasting but it’s great in a cuppa instead of sugar, you just need to put a bit extra in. A little bit more expensive than other sweetners but I think it’s worth definitely worth the money!

Saw this product on dragons den and did my own research before purchasing. Doesn’t appear to have any adverse health effects like aspartame based sweeteners from what I’ve read and doesn’t have the distinctive taste of Stevia, which is what I’ve been using til now while low carb. I need to use 3 tsps to achieve the same sweetness as my 1.5 heaped tsps of sugar in my tea but it tastes exactly the same and no aftertaste. I have found though that there is a very minor aftertaste that gets stuck in your throat if you use it in very large amounts as part of a recipe. Used 250 grams in a chocolate milkshake recipe in 2.5 pints of milk and it does have a very subtle after taste but it’s not offensive at all. Definitely the best sweetener I’ve tried and will be purchasing again. Only issue I see is that there is a competitor product on Amazon that is cheaper per kilo which is just sold as Erythritol and had I not seen the impressive pitch on dragons den, I may have opted for that one.

Fabulous product that is as near to sugar taste that you will get but more healthier. If the price could be a bit lower it would be perfect

It does look like sugar and have the consistency of sugar until you put it on your tounge, then it's slightly pasty as it dissolves, that was all fine - I just wanted something that tasted like sugar, sadly this did not seem to be it. I put it in my coffee and unless I've developed sudden taste sensory loss my coffee tasted exactly the same. I may try multiple spoonfuls later to see if it makes a difference, but one teaspoon which is what they recommend does not seem to do anything.

At first mixing this with your food you feel no sugar. However, licking it with one finger you feel the burst of sugar.

Being Type 2 diabetic, I recently purchased a small pack of this product to see what it was like. It lived up to its claims when used in coffee leaving no unpleasant aftertaste. However, the pack doesn't list the artificial sweeteners/ingredients used. Research online revealed these to be Stevia with Erythritol. I was alarmed to find that in scientific studies as recent as 2023, elevated Erythritol levels in the bloodstream carries the increased risk of blood clot formation leading to Cardiovascular events of Stroke/Heart Attack. (The scientific studies were concerned with the use of Erythritol in general & not aimed at a specific named product.) As little as 80g is involved which is about 4 to 5 desert spoonfuls. As I am already living with acute Heart Failure and having a Pacemaker fitted along with taking an anticoagulant, I have decided to err on the side of caution and not to continue using the product. It's a pity because it's the best sweetener I have used. Due to the potential risk I would rather do without! Hence the 1 star rating.

Easy to use and a good substitute.
