People buy crap protect and honestly this is probably better (at least as good) and so much less expensive. I clean my shoes with Jason mark monthly and reapply this after they’ve dried. I have a pair of white leather sneakers that still look brand new. I’ve also used this on converse and some suede boots. Worked on all. This isn’t my first time buying it - and it’s worked consistently well every time on all materials without discolouration At the end of the day you still need to Take care of your shoes but this makes it a ton easier. When I get a black mark from an escalator or whatever I just damp a towel and wipe it off. Not that easy with untreated shoes. Don’t fall for the jd sports hype. Buy this stuff. Spray outside as it stinks - but the smell dissipates quickly if you can leave them outside. I always wait for a break in rainy days to do my treatments.

This stuff is brilliant and really works. I used it to waterproof a pair of vans and was really surprised at how good it is. I followed the instructions and removed laces and masked off the rubber. I sprayed my vans with one coat (I did mine outside because the spray has a strong smell) and left them to dry. They are completely waterproof. As wayerproof as the much more expensive mte range of vans. I treated my vans in September last year and they are still as waterproof today, almost a year later, and I haven’t had to reapply the coating. I wear my vans almost everyday, so it’s not like they’ve been treated and left in a cupboard. Really impressed with this, it’s hands down the best I’ve found performance wise and I am happy to recommend it. This stuff will definitely waterproof your shoes and keep them looking fab for longer. Worth mentioning that the first two photos were taken the day I treated my vans in September 2018. The last was taken in May 2019 and they are still exactly the same today (September 2019) This stuff is great!

Need to reapply the spray again and again to retain the water repellent effects. It does the job but it would not work well if the rain was heavy. Strong smell. Advisable to use it under open air. The colour of the shoes will get darker after application.

I could just leave it at that but I've used used water resistant sprays like this on my casual shoes of choice (suede gutties, usually Vans, Etnies, éS, Element and Duffs) for many years and I enjoy writing stuff when I start. I always treat my suedes when they're still new, straight out of the box. It's not just about keeping them waterproof. If dirty water from puddles carries muck into the fibres of the suede, then dries, that leaves you with manky trainers that you sometimes can't fully clean right with a brass suede brush or even a suede cleaner, shampoo or a renovating spray. All of which are a pain in the butt and they never really work as well as you hope. Much better to go down the preventative route than the remedial route. Prevention is better than cure. I've never had to throw out a pair of shoes that I've treated this way because the uppers got minging or manky before the soles wore out. It's only ever been because the soles wore out but one treatment doesn't last forever. A few months down the line it might wear off, though, and they could get wet or dirty if you forgot to keep them maintained with the odd spray now and then (doesn't have to be very regularly). You should give them another coat or 2 after they're dry and clean, if they do get wet that way again. This Scotchgard one is a good one. Run your shoes under the tap after you've treated them with it to see. I've been throwing out shoes because they have holes in the soles but the uppers on them still look brand new, for years (Barkeeper's Friend and plain old pencil erasers are good for scuffing on the edges of soles as well).

Firstly I can't believe how good this spray is, I've used this Scotch Guard spray on two pairs of expensive shoes so far, & I sprayed them outside on the doorstep, because the fumes were a little too much to spray them inside. Spraying the shoes wasn't a problem because the spray covered very well & evenly. I left the shoes to dry for 12 hours as it told me on the can &. I then wore a pair of them. The result was excellent as later in the day it started raining & I had to go out, the raindrops were non exsistant on my shoes & I came back with a totally dry pair of shoes, I couldn't believe it. Also when I got home I also had a surprise, my doorstep was covered in little droplets of water, just sitting there. Now when it rains my doorstep looks dry but with little droplets of water forming on the top of it. I've treated more of my shoes after trying it out, & I've had the same results, so thumbs up to the Scotch Guard & I will certainly keep on using it in the future, especially with all the rain & damp weather we get in this country.
