Boils fast
My electric kettle, hobs and oven and grill are costing me a fortune. We bought this halogen single hob to save on electricity. Our kettle uses the most electricity in our kitchen as my hubby drinks about 20 cups of tea a day. This tefal hob boils 2 litres of water in 2.5mins!! Quicker than a kettle at a fraction of the price. We bought the cheaper version. It looks very nice, easy to use, easy to clean and extremely safe to use around pets and children as the hob itself doesn't get hot. It's the heat from the pots that make it hot..you can put an ice cube next to your boiling pot and it won't melt!! I love it..haven't tried all the settings yet but I will try them all at some point. What I have tried work very well especially the boil water function with our whistle kettle..amazed at the speed. Doesn't take up much room either, so my invest in another one!!

Love this!
Being disabled, and not having much money or the ability to stand and cook, I find this a great table top hob to have. The induction pans are a little on the heavy side but this has been a game changer for me. Its cut down on the cooking time and energy used (saves me a fair amount of money). I have 2 of these on my kitchen counter, along with 2 different air ovens and haven't had a proper cooker/oven for around 5+ yrs now. My energy consumption with all of the above mentioned is very low, which is ideal for someone like me on a budget. Easy to use, this has different settings on it from boil to basic steady heat settings so there's plenty ways to cook different foods. I just wish they could make the induction pans a little lighter to handle but that's no reflection on this hob. Easy to clean. Only downside for me is that it is a glass hob, so if you drop something on it, it could crack it (happened to me once so this was a replacement for that one). But if looked after, these do last a long time. Will definitely purchase again as and when I need another one/replacement for the ones I have as I've had other brands but have found this one to be the best and most reliable.

Efficient and Versatile
I rarely write reviews, something must be awful or fantastic for me to bother. This Slim Induction Hob is marvellous, although I've had it only about 6 weeks. Very efficient, boils water very fast compared to gas, probably electric too. Far better temperature control than my old electric stove. Looks so cool and slim, very easy to clean and store away (but I seem to use it every day!) Bought as a temporary solution because Im getting a new gas cooker and have to decorate kitchen first, its just so easy to use. Can change settings anytime during cooking even when the timer has been set, this is also great when cooking pasta, making stock etc. Keep an eye on it when using a saucepan with a lid, as with any type of cooker, because it can take a short while (depending on the pot) to change temperature. Nevertheless its very easy to wipe up spills. I use a paper kitchen towel under the pan (use this to wipe up after so not to waste) as some of my old saucepans are not so clean on the bottom as they should be. Obviously use with a pan that's meant for induction, check with a magnet. I have what I thought was a stainless steel frying pan which is clearly only steel at the surface and the base must be mostly aluminium. Works great with my iron skillet and casserole (even though they are apparently too big). A little difficult to sautรฉ onions/mushrooms with because it will turn off for safety reasons when lifting the pan up for more than a few seconds (it comes back on again if not too long). So just stir or briskly move pan horizontally only. Just need to get used to it. Haven't tried it yet but as its so mobile it will be great to eat Chinese hotpots on a table with. Everyone can sit around chatting and eating away for hours and it will stay hot at the lowest setting. Overall I'm really quite impressed with this, very versatile, efficient, safe, easy to clean and store. When I ordered it I thought it was a little expensive, similar to the cost of a microwave oven, but now I think its worth every penny. Perfect for people with small kitchens or that live alone, absolutely ideal for students I would think..

Genuinely excellent
Iโm going to start this review by saying that this is the second one of these weโve bought. We live in a rented house that has a pretty useless ceramic hob and, having previously had a gas hob, I needed something a bit more responsive. Since we canโt get mains gas here, this was the solution. The first one of these we bought was 5 years ago. I probably paid ยฃ45 for it then, and it has paid for itself many times over. The only reason we had to replace it was because at some point the seal on the front got damaged by a large pan, and when a subsequent pan boiled over it got water inside. Even then, having ordered a replacement, we didnโt actually need to take it out of the box until a month or so later as it dried out and continued to work for a while. If youโve not yet made the jump to induction and are wondering whether itโs worth it, this little hob will show you how good it is. It may be a single hob, and comparatively cheap, but it does its job incredibly well and has converted me completely to induction, to the point that whenever we leave rented accommodation, a decent fitted induction hob will be at the heart of our new kitchen. And if youโre just getting this for spare capacity, itโll do that very well. Weโve taken ours on self-catering holidays to make sure we have at least one hob that will heat a pan of water in a sensible timeframe, as well as to family get togethers where itโs come in handy. This is such great value for money. Our first saw daily use for 5 years. This one will see similar use until we finally manage to buy a home of our own, and Iโm confident itโll last another 5 years if needed. Itโs fab.

Seems to be a good buy
I purchased the slimline version of this hob and so far so good. I have only used the Slow tab and I find it does everything I need, from frying eggs to boiling water. I do feel it runs hot in as much everything seems to cook very quickly and I think if I used the Fry tab it would burn the food. Not tried it because who can afford to burn food nowadays? It's very easy to clean because its all one level and it's all ceramic. I find it to be very quiet, and have to listen hard before I switch it off at the plug. Is it worth the hefty price tag, we will see how long it lasts but Tefal has a good reputation in our house. Overall, I would say its a good bit of kit.

Uses my excess electric
This has exceeded my expectations, heats fast, fits in kitchen draw. Recently installed solar panels so this uses excess generated power . Pans need to be compatable with induction ring, the bases need to be magnetic.

Produit pour les prises Anglo saxonnes
Inutilisable en France. Escroquerie manifeste car le consommateur nโest pas au courant et doit ensuite se coltiner le renvoi du produit.

Only 3* from a TEFAL fanboy
I really like the Tefal brand but can only score this hob 3* given the type of mechanical buttons used on the hob (see video). Over time I think the 90โs style waterproof protective covering will crack as this has happened with other similar type buttons in the past. I will keep the hob though as I like the way I can easily control the timer and temperature settings.
