Warm and tasty and not too spicy on my un-initiated British palate
I bought this so I could cook some authentic tteokbokki and other Korean dishes, as I was watching Bon Appetite, Your Majesty and Business Proposal and the food looked really tasty. There isn't a Korean restaurant around here and I love to cook, so I have little choice but to make it myself. It's a very warm kind of heat, it's quite spicy, I use one heaped teaspoon in the recipe I found (500g of ricecakes), and I like mild to medium heat so it was at my limit, but then it dies away and leaves a tingling heat behind, that compliments the other flavours bringing them out. My first try didn't go all that well as I used the wrong rice cakes, but second time around was amazing. I also add it to my Chili too to give it a little Korean twist. Going to add a little bit to my next K-recipe I'm attempting tonight: Bibimbap. Presented nicely in a sturdy tub, though the whole lid pops off when opening, but that's not really an issue for me. My English tastes buds really enjoyed this.

Excellent versatile Korean Chilli paste, recommend
Very good quality paste, I have bought other brands but this one pips all of them. When making home made Kimchi I substitute half the required Korean chilli powder with a tablespoon of this, people rave about my kimchi. Itโs also fab for Korean chilli chicken too which is easy and ideal BBQโd and served in tacos with salad for a hassle free gathering, or oven baked with rice and saladโฆ Recipe serves 4 : Roughly chop 3 cloves of garlic and a thumb sized piece of ginger & pop into a blender with 2 tablespoons each of Korean/Chinese rice wine (normal wine will do), 2 of soy sauce, then add 1 heaped tablespoon of this chilli paste and a tablespoon of toasted sesame seed oil, blitz till smooth then rub into 6-8 chicken thighs, leave covered to marinate for 1 hour then either bbq or pop onto a greased baking tray into the oven at 190 degrees for 25 minutes or 35 minutes if using bone in thighsโฆ Yum ๐

Perfect for all your cooking needs
I have ordered this 7 times and every time itโs perfect. Iโm so grateful itโs also gluten free. Perfect for all the dishes I make. Highly recommend. It adds spice without it blowing your head off. I donโt know the shelf life because I use it way to quickly for it to even consider going out of date hahaha.

Great to spice up bland dishes.
Excellent product. I add a couple of teaspoons to my spaghetti bolognaise recipe for a slight twist! Delicious!! Also good for Chilli con Carne, or stir fry.

Rich Flavor with the Perfect Sweet Heat
This gochujang has really great flavor with a nice balance of heat, sweetness, and savory depth. The texture is smooth and thick, making it easy to mix into sauces, marinades, soups, or stir fry dishes. A little goes a long way, and it adds a rich Korean-style flavor that works well in so many recipes. Iโve used it in marinades, noodle dishes, and dipping sauces, and it gives food a bold flavor without being overpowering. The quality tastes fresh and authentic, and itโs become a staple ingredient to keep in the refrigerator. Pros: * Great balance of sweet and spicy flavor * Smooth, easy-to-use texture * Very versatile for cooking * Rich flavor that enhances dishes well Cons: * None so far Overall, this is a delicious gochujang that adds excellent flavor and depth to a variety of meals.

Its the best around.
This used to be around โน500 but for some reason its jumped up in price and stayed that way for a good while. That said nothing and I mean nothing beats this in taste. I've tried other brands, there's a certain mix of tart and heat that you just do not get from the others. I mean if you're using it for daily cooking I wouldn't buy this, the Indian brands work well enough. But if you eat some dishes only on cheat days and want that authentic flavor nothing really beats the Chung Jung . The other brands tend to be a bit more sour, a bit more akin to tomato paste than a chilie paste.
