Depends if they are good at sharing! You can buy the small travel one 'On the Go Spy Mystery Secret Decoder ' to add to it. Comes with 3 pens 3 bookets with different mysterys to solve, so once one child has solved the page , other child wouldn't be able to do. So if you kids are easy going and can share, don't mind such issues , then I guess you wouldn't have a problem. Otherwise buy two. Probably best bet.

Is this too young for a 10 year old boy?

Boarder line. Depends on how switched on they are I reckon . As could see if a bit easy. First booklet: to solve the code using the decoder wheel and using the pen to colour in the blank spaces see answers. Second booklet is using red Len to see answers and work out the puzzle all fairly straightforward. Third booklet has a mixture of activities, bit of origami , blank space to write with invisible pen, code puzzles, decoding ,ways to write secret messages. It was a good present for child (a bright 7yr old ) as into such activities, but didn't take long to complete so longevity wasn't long. If child is quick to solve problems and finds things quite easy , then im guessing probably not the best for a bright 10 year old.
