One of our best Amazon buys. Our daughter loves using this desk. Easy to assemble with clear instructions. Looks great and very sturdy. Cleaning is simple even our 5 yo cleans it easily.

Good for a little artist and cheap to fill up if you use the discount stores. My daughter is 7 and starting to get a bit big for it so mostly uses it as storage now - would recommend it for age 4-7.

Good solution for 3-4 year-olds
This item was ordered with some trepidation given the mixed reviews. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating - or in this case the proof of the product is seeing a four-year-old making good use of it.The Desk is made of plastic parts, which customers with other "Step-2" products will be used-to.We had no problem with assembly. All the parts were well packed, and complete assembly ready for use took only approximately 15 minutes - which would be consistent at any skill level. Just need a couple phillips/crosshead screwdrivers. The parts all slot together, the screws only being used to hold them in-place. Once assembled, the desk is actually very stable. It is light and not too large to be moved around the house relatively easily - something we feel is a bonus. What attracted us to the desk was the ability to store writing and art materials (paper, pencils, crayons, etc), in the desk itself, and we have not been disappointed. The size of the desk is clearly designed for the 3-4 age-group, and our child has no problem in reaching all the materials needed. The large side pockets in the legs easily accommodate pads, books and such, so the whole thing keeps everything relatively neat and tidy. Our child uses the desk not-only for writing and drawing practice, but also for cutting, sticking and gluing, which is well catered-for. The plastic is easy to keep clean, which is a bonus. The main work surface is slightly tilted towards the front, but not too much that material won't stand or would roll away.Buy this if you have a budding 3-4 year-old writer or artist, and you need to ensure that materials are stored reasonably tidily. By age-five I think many children will have outgrown this desk (and the chair in particular), but for the money a good 12-18 month use should be expected.

Very happy child!!
When my son saw this his eye lit up! He's played with it happily since! The little chair it comes with is lovely and just the right size. There's a space for everything from pens to paintbrushes and side pockets where we keep colouring books! It's great how everything can be stored in one place meaning nothing gets misplaced and lost. The design of this product is very thoroughly thought through but that is let down by the light! It doesn't work well at all but for us that isn't enough to cast doubt on how great this desk is.I would definitely recommend for any child who loves to draw/paint and create.

Perfect for 6 year old
I had concerns about this due to the pervious comments but it was the only one on the market that looked suitable. My daughter turned 6 today. She is slightly petite but (as a guide) is the right age group in clothes. This desk and chair are the perfect height for her. The stool and desk are very sturdy plastic construction easy to wipe clean. It has a small light (needs 3 aa batteries) and the bit you draw on lifts up to put paper inside (its white so not really visable on the pictures) i bought a large pen carousel which unfortunately doesnt fit due to the slight slant on the desk and premolded sections to stop your pens rolling off. There are two yellow pen wells and varies nooks and crannys for rubbers, brushes etc. The blue shelf has a yellow pen holder that holdS 12 chunky pens (same width as sharpies) and 2 larger ones. We bought her the Ren art Sprayza blow pen set which fits perfectly in this section. Its just the desk so no accessories are included. Both legs have storage sections which are perfect for large colouring books. Overall all an excellent desk. We are very pleased and im sure my artsy daughter will have at least a year of fun with it before we need to find a way to prop it higher. The only down side is because its plastic the screw holes couldn't be pre drilled as there would be no thread to crip the screw so you have to manually force the screws through. It takes a philip head screw driver and it did take us a couple of hours but only because we didnt have the electric drill to hand. With an electric drill it would only take about 30 minutes. The chair is only 4 pieces and the is desk is about 6 pieces. Very straight forward insturctions for a lovely sturdy desk.
