It's fine, it crimps.
Thought this had a wire cutter on it. I was wrong. Crimps fine but good lord so do 1$ pliers. It's very good quality, just a uni-tasker. Would not rebuy.

Cable end caps can be crimped with a pair of needle nose pliers, or with the crimping slot included on many cable cutters, but they work by crushing the end cap and don’t make clean, perfect crimps like this tool.These crimping pliers are designed to easily hold the end cap in either the end or side crimping slot, and they crimp a small, perfect vertical crimp on one side of the end cap only, leaving the rest of the end cap undamaged.Yes, it’s a small detail, and $30 is a lot to spend on a single-use tool, but if you do your own wrenching and want a perfect finish to bike recabling, this is the right tool for the job.
