Son loved this, very informative, covers a wide range of graphic design areas. Before buying this book i looked at various ones on the market and this came out the best.

Really useful for beginners. Maybe too much about digital marketing... should be more basic principles of design.

How can a 'foundation course' book in its 6th edition commit howling errors such as, just at a first glance: p105 [to make a photo background blurred we] "would choose a smaller aperture (f22)" p73 Glossary 'Leading: The horizontal space between lines of type" p75 "leading ... refers to the horizontal spacing between lines of type" This book is quite an interesting read but you need to 'Know your Onions' before trusting it as any kind of primer. Don't.

I found that this book was useful. I learnt a lot about the basic notion from this book

After reading this a second time, after reading a whole lot of other graphic design books, this is truly a beginner's foundational information for aspiring graphic designers. If you read this book, you will have a good sense of direction as to what skills you need to know to become a graphic designer, and the career paths you can take. Simply one book can not teach you design, but this book will give you more of a blueprint and lay out the skills you need, so you can go study and practice those skills, and the book gives you great advice as well.

I have read only few pages of this book and I am already loving it. Very good book for beginners

Il libro spiega gli argomenti principali della grafica. È a mio avviso rivolto a principianti che hanno poca conoscenza della materia. Il testo comunque è interessante. Da notare anche la nuova sezione dedicata al web.
