Do you think this would work with gravy?

If your gravy is as thin as water there is a chance but if you like thicker gravy, which would be thicker than melted chocolate it definitely would not work

It has a plug i had one sent it back was not a fountain of chocolate more like dribble don't waste your money

Can you put unmelted chocolate straight into the machine?

Yes you, we did it as makes it quicker to use! Love our machine!

how much chocolate does this need to fill it/not over fill it?

Sorry haven't used it yet. For Christmas. However had one previously and because it was so popular we went out 3times to get more chocolate! It was a birthday party.
