Non golfers opinion
I purchased this book for my husband and son who are both avid golfers and they love it. As a non golfer even I have to admit that it's beautifully photographed and very appealing. Gives good information too

A GREAT BOOK OF GOLF HOLES ALL AROUND THE WORLD. GREAT PICTURES EVEN FOR A NON GOLF FAN.

Heavy USA bias
Some great reviews and pictures of some of the greatest golf holes in the world. Extremely subjective though and heavily weighted towards American courses. The huge number of great links courses, well known and not so well known, in Scotland and Ireland should feature much more than many of the mediocre inland American courses. It is a bit outdated and doesnโt include great holes like the new par 3 9th at turnberry, new holes at Portrush, RSG etc as it was produced in 1999.

Worth it for the diagrams.
Great photos. Best eighteen with cutaway diagrams of the hole are brilliant. Didn't find it as interesting after those first hundred pages, or so.

For the avid golfer and great reference guide
I have had the opportunity to play some great courses. Before I go to a well known course, I go to this book and review the holes I am going to play. The pictures are fantastic and the history is great. Lastly, before I took a trip to France, I took out this book and reviewed the potential courses. It was a great starting point to put the itinerary together and we played some beautiful courses. This is a great gift for any avid golfer.
