Casio G-Shock Men's Watch GD-400MB-1ER

I deliberated over this and a couple of other G-Shock watches because of the comments regarding the ability to read the negative display. I love the look of it, chunky and rugged, ideal as an every day watch. As for the negative display I can't deny that in some lighting conditions it is more difficult to read than the conventional style display but not too difficult that I can't live with it. The dual LED lights more than make up for it in complete darkness because they can be set to automatically illuminate when you turn your wrist towards you. If you're looking for a big watch this won't disappoint that said it looks just right on my 7 3/4" wrist.

I love this watch.I was a bit worried before buying, for a couple of reasons.Firstly the reviews that mention the display is difficult to read.Secondly, that the Amazon product description seemed to suggest this design was aimed at ‘young skateboarders’ - I am neither young, nor a skateboarder (and have no intention of trying!)So, I have had no difficulty reading the display, and have used it inside, outside, dark and bright sun, I found no problem at all with the display.Secondly, the description on other sites, including Casio’s own G Shock page indicates this is more military in feel and look - and I agree.As with all G Shock models, it is robust and feels nice and substantial on the wrist- but without feeling overly bulky.I have a few G Shock watches - And I’m so pleased I got this one to add to the collection. I have purchased to use in the garden and when I am DIY’ing, but wouldn’t hesitate to wear on a daily basis for any scenario.It’s great.

I'm.really pleased with this watch, i wanted a tough watch with extra protection and came packed and well looked after, easy to set up and has the added benefit of the lt function which allows you to set the light to come on when you tilt your wrist, extra guard protection as I've smashed many watches in my work and this seems to fit the bill for a very reasonable price too .it's light and comfortable and it's size hasn't given me any problem and I Think it looks good too with green on black display ,would recommend one and theyres a few different colours in this range too .I'm tempted to get another .

Big bold watch looks very robust more so than some other G Shocks, basic functions are all easy to use.Looks great only buy if you like BIG watches.

Love the look, feel & build quality on this watch. One and only dislike is the display, it’s really difficult to see unless you’re in a well lit area. Have to keep putting on the light to see the time and I know that’s going to run the battery out very quickly. Solar power would have been a better option!!! Or just make the display brighter!!!

Best watch I've ever owned...bar none. I've worn it daily for around 3 years now, including Snowboarding, mountain biking (DH), white water kayaking.Easy country selection for time and date, plenty of alarms, really robust, the world's first me proof watch!I even fell down a mountain, breaking a wrist and it has taken it all in its stride. It is starting to lose its shine now and whilst I'm sure it has years of performance left on it, I could do with getting a newer one for more formal occasions.

To be honest I'm a Automatic / Manual watch enthusiast but I've always liked the look of G-Shocks. So my one and only digital purchase was this GD-400MB-ER Build quality is great and it's very comfortable to wear. Love the "bull bars" which sets it off from other digitals and is certainly a talking point amongst colleagues. The only gripe I have, unless someone can correct me, is the date is set out in the "American" layout with month coming before the date.

I bought this watch to replace my gbd 800 the watch itself was fine but I had complete destroyed the part where the spring bars connect to the watch at work which is why I bought This gd 400 as it has a much stronger manner in which the watch connects to the strap it has a br which goes all the way through much stronger and it is a shame that more g shocks don’t use this method as I have never broken a g shock watch but have often broken the spring bars etc the with itself is easy to read in day light and at night has a great light which has the optional to set so it turns on when you turn your wrist the bull bars are a nice touch and have already saved me scratching the watch over all it’s a very complete and comfortable tough watch however I would of liked it to be solar powered
