Jabra Speak 510 Speaker — Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Conference Speaker — Connects to Laptops, Smartphones and Tablets — USB Plug

I bought this for Skype meetings while working at home, finding wired headsets a bit too restrictive.It's a nicely built unit, feeling robust and whilst light, it has enough mass to avoid sliding around your desk, helped by the soft rubbery pad underneath. The USB cable (full size usb-a connector one end, permanently attached at the other) simply coils around the base, with no arresting mechanism to keep it fixed. Operation is simple and my W10 laptop had no difficulty recognising the device and configuring itself for use.Speaker quality is excellent, clear and loud enough to fill a small office. Voice quality is reportedly good, although some people have mentioned that I sound a touch echo-y.Touch controls all work perfectly and Bluetooth pairing to my phone was also straightforward, with sound quality as good as via the wired connection. It can still handle Bluetooth calls while wired to a laptop (provided it's not already in use).Only improvement I'd like to see is having the mute button illuminated when in use. The red LEDs around the speaker give a clear indication of when you're muted, but it can be tricky to spot the mute button itself when trying to unmute during a meeting - having an illuminated symbol to aim at would make this easier.I've only used it while wired into either my laptop or docking station for power, so can't comment on the battery life.Overall I'm very pleased and would certainly recommend to others.

Having persevered with a headset for the first few months of lockdown I decided to get one of these based on a colleague's recommendation.The sound quality from the speaker is superb - the microphone possibly isn't as good as a boom microphone on a headset (slightly 'boxier' sound but I haven't experienced any feedback/echo, so it's fine) and for long calls I find it much easier than having a headset on. I have used it with Teams, Skype, Zoom and Webex without any issues and it is fine with my work laptop (and due to the restrictions imposed by the IT department, that's quite rare!) and my own laptop.The ability to use this via bluetooth with a phone or tablet as well as a wired connection is also very useful.The speaker comes with a small soft case - it doesn't offer a huge amount of protection, but it's fine for slipping into a briefcase or backpack and stops the speaker getting scratched.Highly recommended!

Amazing.Works perfectly well in a conference situation with good volume

I work from home and have been using a USB headset for quite some time however this leaves me tied to my desk during long calls. I wanted a hands free solution and had previously tried Bluetooth headsets however they were really unreliable. My colleague, also a homeworker, had recommended this product so I thought I would give it a try. You have the option of pairing with your PC or phone via Bluetooth, leaving the device entirely wireless, or you can plug directly into the PC via the attached USB cable (which winds neatly round the base when not in use). Whilst I really like the idea of the Bluetooth option, I have been told by callers that my voice is much clearer when the device is plugged in.I have used the conference speaker many times now when using my VOIP phone and it has been a godsend. During a long meeting today, I was able to tap the 'mute microphone' button on the edge of the device and get myself a glass of water, stretch my legs etc whilst still listening in on the meeting. The quality of sound is fantastic and you can alter the volume up and down by tapping one of the buttons around the device.When not in use, the speaker can be neatly packed away into its own little zipped bag. This would be perfect for taking away on business and using with a laptop or paired with a mobile phone for long calls.I love it. 4 stars only as the quality of sound reported by my customers and colleagues when I am connected via Bluetooth is not as good. To be fair though, my PC does not support bluetooth directly and I had bought a separate dongle to facilitate this so it could be down to that.

Really chuffed with this purchase. I have recently joined a new company whom use Skype for Business as their conference facility and this poses a problem when there is more than one of you, as the sound on laptops usually isn't up to the job. I hunted around and came across the Jabra Speak 510 on Google. The reviews were great so I decided to go on Amazon and I found it for half the price as listed on their website. It really is brilliant. The sound quality is great and the people I speak via this device confirm this. Connectivity to any Bluetooth enabled device is extremely easy and there is no device PIN input required which is always a bonus! The range is good, too, and I can easily walk round the room with my phone in my pocket and there's no problem, even walk around the home/office and it will stay connected when I return to my desk. I have it plugged in to my laptop to use as a multimedia speaker (I use Apple Music via iTunes) and have my phone connected via Bluetooth --- seemless integration! 100% recommend this to anyone... PS: This is not a paid endorsement haha :)

This is a great bit of kit. It has excellent tone quality and can fill an executive sized office with ease. The mics work really well too. Me being the nerd that I am, I have tested it out from 4 metres away, and it works as well as any spider phone I've used. It does a half decent job as a misic speaker, perfectly good for streaming voice and music. Ive been using it for a week now and the battery life has proved to be excellent, with 2 days use (..4 hours of calls, the rest on standby) the battery light has hardly moved, even at full volume. If I was being harsh, my only critique would be that the volume level needs to be pretty high, but it still cuts the mustard with those flaky garbled calls that we find ourselves on all to often.. I've tried a few of these out and this is the best I've seen for the money...

Headsets get tiring after a while, often hot with wireless having the minor but overtime annoyance of recharge. This plugs into the USB port and is a fire and forget device. Sounds is nice and clear for voice, microphone works well. Nice to have the convenience of a mute button and volume controls on the device itself.It works well on my Mac, not tried it with my phone though again it will prove convenient I am sure. Doubt it will ever leave the study but nice to know if I don't want to take it on a work trip I can. I've been using it with Zoom predominantly, I am sure it works well other services too.

Bought it for work and it has served me for 3 years now without failure. I mostly using the USB connection but worked well a few times I used it as cordless speaker. Highly recommended if you want it as a speaker to have a call conference with a lot of people in the room. The built in mic is good and sensitive enough to pick up voices from a long distance in the room.

So I've had this for about 3 months now and I have to say what a bloody awesome job Jabra have done. This device definitely continues to maintain their reputation for well designed and manufactured products.Aesthetically: this is a great little unit: nice and compact with minimal and very clear symbols that are self-explanatory as to their function. And the touch-sensitive symbols work really well - Jabra have managed to get the perfect balance of not requiring too much pressure but needing more than a fly or accidental brush so there's very little chance of accidentally killing a call mid-conference.Usability: I use this with a Windows Surface Pro (mach 1), Nokia Lumia 930 mobile phone and an iPad Mini 3. Pairing is as simple as it should be. - once that is done, life gets even more simple: just turn it on and within seconds it's connected with a clear voice confirmation that removes any doubt. Similarly when you power off there's a voice confirmation of "disconnected."The little pouch that it comes with is handy. I chuck the speaker in my bag and it gets lugged around from customer site to customer site, often with a loving lob onto the car's back seat or boot. While the pouch is starting to fade through wear, it does a good job of stopping the speaker from get scratched :)Battery life hasn't been a problem. I haven't actually measured it because ... well, I haven't needed to! I probably only use this for about 6 hours / week and generally remember my ABCs (Always Be Charging). The longest I've used it for a conference call would be an hour and a half and the longest time in between uses would be about 3 weeks (over Christmas / New Year break) and the battery didn't lose its charge.Something that I hadn't picked up on in the marketing bumf is that when plugged in via USB to my Windows Surface Pro, it still works with my mobile via Bluetooth. From the product info I thought that plugging in via USB over-rode / disengaged the Bluetooth so this is a pleasant surprise.All up - I'm really impressed with this. Would I use it for beach or social use? Probably not - but for this contract project manager who needs simplicity, reliability, good sound quality and solid build quality, this is handsdown a winner.And no - I have no affiliation whatsoever with Jabra or any other tech manufacturer so this is a completely unbiased review.
