The diopter adjustment ring is so stiff I can't rotate it at all. What is the cause?

The dioptre ring is intentionally stiff to prevent it moving once you have set it to your eyesight requirements but it should not be so stiff that you can hardly move it. Suggest you take it up with the supplier.
