Review: Would buy again - Nice scent but doesn’t last long, they do help with blockages and I would buy again
Review: Been using these guys for 2 months now (since May 2020)... - ... and am very pleased with these sticks. We moved to our house last October, and we noticed that unpleasant seage smells quite often emanated from the kitchen sink. Then I stumbled upon these sticks, and had never heard of them. Read a bunch of reviews, and as it was mostly positive, I thought I'd give them a try. I purchased the lemon ones. You basically dump 1 in the sink hole once a month (I did it just before writing this review) and forget about it. Since we started using the sticks, we have not experienced the bad smells again. So they work. Before changing the stick, I checked the U bend of mysink just to check if the last 2 I have used actually disolved, since some reviews mentioned they didn't and ended up blockin their sink; and I am pleased to mention that there was nothing it mine, so they disolve as advertised. The only comment, is that I change them exactly 1 month after one another (I have a reminder in my calendar), so as there was nothing, they might last a bit less than 1 month. Regardless, we have not experienced smells, so all good. Other reviews mentioned that the sticks break easily, or were broken when recieved. Mine weren't, and I am carefull when taking them out the package. That said, once they are in the U bend, I do not think that it matters much if it is in 1 piece. Maybe small pieces might flush away with the water? So why the 4 stars only? Well, as mentioned I purchased the lemon sticks, but I cannot smell any lemon whatoever. Even when I just change it. So for me the extra £2.50 of the scented sticks are not worth it. So my next purchase will be the unscented ones. I assume they work exactly the same; I doubt that the lemn scent is what tackles the sewage smell we experienced. I guess I will review the unscented ones next year to let you know! But I would definitely recommend them!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do these clean the drains of blockages such as hairs ?**
A: I always had a problem with my longish hair blocking the bath but these have worked brilliantly and i have had no blockages since i put one in my bath. I think this is a great product.

**Q: Can you use these sticks if sinks are connected to a macerator?**
A: it depends on how the sink is connected, the stick sits in the u-bend, if the u-bend is 'before' the macerator then yes they will work - if its an integrated sink/macerator then maybe not

**Q: Can you use Ecozone Enzymatic drain sticks on outside drains**
A: The Ecozone Enzymatic drain sticks are designed for the household drains whenever there are bad smells but they need to be submerged in water in order for them to work. I suppose you can use the sticks in any type of drains with bad smells providing that there is water going into those drains. However the sticks only last around a month and perhaps using them on outside drains would be a waste of money and you wouldn't appreciate their full effect.I think that a good eco friendly anti bacterial product from a garden centre would be more appropriate for the outside drains or pipes. Good luck.

**Q: Would these work on drain flies?**
A: It would work on their food source, not the flies themselves, so it would be gradual but eventually they'd leave.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Difficult to know how effective these are as they arrived broken and just flush away
*by P***B on 23 December 2024*

Used a similar product before and seemed to work well. Bought these ones and upon opening the amazon packaging it was immediately obvious that the majority of the sticks were broken. This wasn't an issue with the previous brand as they were wooden sticks impregnated with the enzymes which would soften over 3-4 weeks before being flushed away from the sink trap. These ones are a sort of hard wax. As these were largely broken, they would flush away on the first use. I did manage to get 3 whole sticks, but these didn't seem to last more than 24 hours. Maybe the hot water softened them, and they flushed away. Would have liked to have tested them properly but sadly not had the opportunity.
