In regard to the usb connection.is this used purely for charging? or can it be plugged to a pc's usb port and used like a standard wired usb headset?

Hi yes you can use it as both. When I forget to charge it I use it as a wired headset as it charges.

Is the mic noise canceling?

Yes it is. If you do not talk into the mic the customer will not hear you. I had the TV on the kids playing and the water running in the kitchen and my caller did not hear any of that. It's really really good

I get is complaints from colleagues that they can hear people around me as much as they can me, I cannot see any settings to adjust to stop this?

There are no settings that I am aware of. However I don't get comments like that - in fact people often say they can't hear any noises that I apologise for. In my experience, the noise-cancelling function works extremely well so it sounds as though your unit might be faulty?

Looks like the usb bluetooth link dongle is no longer working, can I replace it ?
