Philips myGarden Arbour LED Outdoor Wall Light with Motion Sensor [Anthracite] 1 x 6 W Integrated LED Light, For Garden and Patio Lighting

After 2 years this light still looks great and works perfectly.

These were bought to replace some of the same. The grey outer cover is peeling but they have lasted 8 years. Of the 3 I have, one stopped working and was quickly replaced without drama by Phillips who were excellent. I could just swap over the covers as the internals and sensors still work as new. Easy to recommend.

Nice looking unit with a soft, warm light. Bought two to replace existing lights by my front and back doors. I had an electrician in to fit them and each took him 15-20 mins. A small torx allen key is provided for the outer case of the unit but there are no fixings in the box - so you'll need 4 suitable screws and plugs for the surface where it's fitted. You can control the time the light stays on for and the level of darkness at which it starts/stops working - these controls are under a little sliding cover on the top half of the pir sensor. Only gripe is the pir sensor is very sensitive and the range is huge so the front light is being triggered by both cars and pedestrians on the street even though my front door must be at least 5 metres from the pavement at its closest point. Even then, cars set it off at the edge of the sensor range (eg at 2 o'clock if you imagine the light is at the centre of a clock) and the cars are at least 7-8 metres from the door at that angle. A bit excessive really considering many would want to use this as a front outside light. I've had to mask off the parts of the sensor with black electrical tape to reduce the range. Quite pleased with it though. It looks much better than a security flood light and provides enough light for what we need (bright enough to feel safe and find your keys). The light it produces is definitely brighter than it looks on the photos.

Bought this item in March. It worked for 2 months then completely failed to operate except to stay on all the time. The sensor was clearly not working. Only option was to turn it off at the mains which meant going into the garage to turn it back on manually, which defeats the whole object and meant a walk across my courtyard in the dark.

I ended up purchasing this product from another shop as Amazon failed to deliver. They were great at refunding me and rectifying the situation though. Due to time constraints having booked the electrician had to get the item immediately which cost slightly more than Amazon. The lights look great and are significantly brighter than we had anticipated. We were advised they were quick and easy to install. they seem very sturdy and Philips quality reassures us. I would highly recommend to anyone. Also they will save a fortune on electric bills being LED and very environmentally friendly which is a major plus.

Let's get the negative out of the way first. So this light does not have the functionality of a manual overide. What I mean by that is the ability to overide the PIR and set the light to remain on permanently. Most PIR lights have this feature which is enabled by flicking the light switch on and off, the Philips however does not. Had I known this I would not have purchased. On the positive side, the style of the unit is pleasing and the PIR sensor works very well. The light spectrum is a warm white and bright enough to light the front of the house without being intrusive to the neighbours.

Before drilling any mounting holes, ensure that there is enough cable to enable the light to be situated where you want it and the power is off I.e if the cable is not long enough it will make fitting/wiring the light difficult, and you may end up compromising where you want the light. Next ensure that the light is level and drill 1 of the top holes using the removable back plate (lighting unit)as your template. Fix the back plate (lighting unit)with a wallplug and screw into the hole that you have just drilled. NB Ensure that you have threaded the cable from the wall through the supplied grommet and you are able to connect the wires to the appropriate terminals inside the back plate/lighting unit. After you are satisfied that the back plate (lighting unit)is level, drill another hole in the bottom opposite corner of the first hole that you have drilled and insert another wallplug and screw. Once you are completely happy drill the last 2 holes and insert the wallplugs and screws. Finally connect the wires from the wall cable to the terminal block inside the light unit (these are clearly marked) and fix the light unit cover to the back plate All screws and wall plugs are supplied with this light. Next switch the power on. Worth noting that it is much easier to set the sensitivity, dawn/dusk and timer when daylight is fading. Just to clarify that the back plate/lighting unit are the same thing .

La consegna è avvenuta in tempi rapidi (1 giorno in anticipo rispetto alla previsione), i prodotti corrispondono alla descrizione. L'intensità della luce è buona (nonostante i soli 6,5 w di potenza), ho infatti illuminato un giardino di circa 1.000 mq con 5 lampioncini.

De lamp staat echt mooi als hij aan de muur hangt, goede licht opbrengst en stijlvol. Echter liep de eerst vol met water en bij de vervangende lamp gaat na een jaar de bescherm coating / verf los laten. Dus mixed feelings.
