I would classify them as briefs. The waist is about at the belly button. I hope that helps you.

why would the size measurements reference a size number when there is nothing as a universal size number/letter to measurements &not waist in.?

The last picture in the listing shows you what the numbers mean in terms of size and measurements. However, I have found the numeric sizing of underwear to be fairly universal.

Super stretchy. Recommend!

I've been wearing these for several years now. About once every 12-18 months I buy a new pack because they tend to lose their ability to unstretch themselves. They are super stretchy and the waist band is good. It stretches with the other materials so it's comfortable and not restrictive. They are super light weight. They have a variety of colors. The white and pink ones can be slightly see through. I wear a size 18 pants and I have smaller hips/butt/thighs and I bought an XL. Fits perfect.

awkward seam placement

Thin and tight-fitting as promised. There's a seam in back that tickles just the wrong spot though...

Poor quality

One wash and the band came off all of them.

Great fit

They are true to size. I am 220 and got the plus size 8 and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable.
