This torch ticks all the boxes and I am still using it 18 months later. It fits nice in the hand, the different brightness levels are excellent and really intuitive to use, and the red LED is an added bonus for not wanting to destroy night vision! The XM-l2 UED flashlight performs out of all proportion to its modest size. This performance comes from the combined package of construction quality, illumination and features.The metal case is machined with anti-roll flat surfaces and knurled bands to increase grip. The illumination is outstanding, with a step-through of five white lighting levels and a red light (the latter is useful when doing tripod photography outdoors at night....or any other situation where you want to protect your night vision). In addition, it offers four white strobe modes: constant strobe, intermittent flash (approximately every three seconds), SOS flash and a red flashing mode.Power is via the included rechargeable IMR 14500 640 mAh Li-ion battery (charger *not* included) or a standard AA battery (expect much shorter use life when using an alkaline battery).Accessories include an extra O ring, a lanyard, a pocket clip and carrying case. But don't select this for the accessories; select it for the quality of construction and the versatility of the illumination options.This costs more than many similar-looking flashlights, and you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to spend this much.
