Todays Tools Plumb Tub

What a great bit of kit ! This is very useful if your a plumber or someone like myself who does a lot of DIY jobs around my house and for other people. In the past when I would drain a radiator I would have to find a tub that fit under the pipe and get some towels ready as it would always leak over the floor, well not anymore with this. This has 3 corners to fit different size pipes. We have 22mm, 15mm and 10mm, the 10mm is the one shown in my picture. Easy to use just hook around your pipe and clip into place and any excess water will run into the tub and not all over the floor. Its just the right size to fit under a radiator and in those tight gaps that a normal square or round tub just wont fit. For just under £10 this is a great bit of kit, wish I got one years ago.

Used to drain radiators, it's a good idea and works fairly well but I would still put down a few towels as it doesn't catch all of the water and it's not big enough to drain in one go, you have to empty it a few times for larger rads.

Saw a plumber using one of these and got one myself for the odd bits of minor work I do around the house. His one was pretty well used and still in one piece so they must be pretty robust. It's able to hold quite a bit of water, so you're not worried about the thing filling up and overflowing all the time. Due to the shape, as well as putting one of the corners around a pipe, you can also get it right up against a wall or into a corner. Not the cheapest of items given the simple design, but if it saves you getting water and muck on the your carpet then it's worth the price. Top tip - a wet and dry vacuum cleaner used in conjunction with this is a power combo - you can literally suck the water out of a pipe/radiator/whatever and any you miss will end up in the plumb tub - or use it on its own the smaller jobs. Easy to use, does the job, sensible size!

Nice handy little drain tub. A must for mess free radiator work. Reasonably priced too.

This product is well designed allowing me to connect to 10mm pipework as well as 15 and 22 unfortunately I wish the seal was better placed around the pipes as it easily unclicks but a rag underneath the tub to catch any drips missed solves the problem overall very useful item the flex definitely comes in handy when working under floorboards
