But which is now generally unavailable. In the past I've been reduced to buying tiny (20ml) bottles originating in Poland, & not cheap for the amount you get. Alcohol based is good because it's a disinfectant itself (i.e. old fashioned after shave) , & evaporates quickly leaving dry skin, as opposed to readily available water based products. Being alcohol it really stings if applied to say a graze. But which is better a few seconds of discomfort or the risk of infection. Review: Good value and quality - I always use this for my ponies. Thrush in the foot, or to disinfectant wounds. Can anyone clarify please? Many thanks** A: Hi there. I can only tell you how we use it on ourselves and our dogs. If any of us get a scrape or a graze (human or canine) we spray directly on the wound. If it's a deep cut we tend to spray the iodine on a swab of some kind and wipe the skin around and over the cut.Hope that helps **Q: What percentage of iodine is it? 1%?** A: This product is 3%.
