Squires Kitchen Edible Glue 25g Sugarcraft Cake Decorating

Great glue I use this to attach a lot of edible toppers and fondant to fondant or to add objects on cake boards. Use a thin paintbrush to apply this,because if it smears it kind of leaves a glisten/ sheen type coating around which is noticeable. I don't find this particularly easy to remove without leaving a spot of wetness like 'something was there' type thing. I would recommend when you apply this to an object and place in the spot you wish to glue, you leave the item to dry in that exact position without moving it. I use to think i didn't apply enough glue, but honestly you need to apply it and leave it to do its thing while drying. Give it an hour or so before you attempt to touch what you've glued. Once you get the hang of using it in minimal, you will realise a little goes a long way, and also be aware if you apply too much it will spread out when you stick it down, so start with a little!

I make sugar flowers and this glue works really well, holds the fine petals easy to use.

I used to use egg white to stick petals etc. together, but sometimes a waste of an egg (and I wasn't eating the end result). I did try using this as a glaze too, which I use egg white for on ivy/rose leaves, as it dries to a subtle clear sheen, but this doesn't do the same, but for gluing this is great and keeps for a lot longer than egg white! Would recommend.

I bought this to attach figures to my sons birthday cake. Most of the figures attached with buttercream which could be hidden easily but there was one that I struggled with. I tried this glue instead and I couldn’t for the life of me get the figure to stick. I had to hold it in place for a really long time, it would finally stand without me holding it, but as soon as I walked away it would topple over again. The figure wasn’t big or heavy. It was the only item I did try with this glue and it didn’t work. Perhaps if you were adding tiny, dainty details.. but if you want a Luigi to stand on your cake try something else.

I'm a relative beginner when it comes to cake-decorating, and this is my first time using edible glue. I built a sugar paste unicorn to sit atop a birthday cake stand, and was a bit worried at how this would work, but it definitely did the job!

Ich habe mir den Essbaren Kleber zum Kleben von Fondant-Verzierungen auf Torten gekauft. Er ist, wie man erwartet, durchsichtig und geschmacklich neutral. Einen starken Geruch konnte ich nicht feststellen. Mit einem Pinsel lässt er sich sehr gut verstreichen und alle Verzierungen halten hervorragend. Anfangs dachte ich, dass 25g zu wenig sind, aber er hält wirklich sehr lange, da man nur kleine Mengen benötigt um ein Stück festzukleben. Nach der Anbringung der Verzierung ist der Kleber nicht mehr zu stehen und er dringt auch nicht durch den Fondant durch. Ich kann den Kleber weiterempfehlen.

Great product

Seems to do the trick, but smells awful. I was a bit surprised by the chemical smell. I'll probably use water with my fondant unless I really need to use this.
