Impressed! Was very quick drying!
I bought this tin a few months back, was waiting for some warm weather (Aug '26) to do my mini project on metal restoration - I done the usual prep (wire brush) and just applied two thin coats of this stuff. Initial impression of the first coat was very good - it almost as if it was attracting the bonding to the rusted part and it seems to self-level when you apply it - so just don't over saturate the first layer! It formed minimal tack (around 10-15 min) where I applied a second thin coat (this was done late evening). Next morning around (10 hours lapse) it was bone dry. Very pleased with the results. I bought the smooth black and in my opinion it was as it states on the tin. Happy customer!

Great Paint - tough, glossy, and built to last!
If your garage door is looking a little sad and weather-beaten, Hammerite Oxford Blue Garage Door Paint is here to bring it back to life. This isn’t just any old paint, it’s tough, glossy, and built to last, like a fresh suit of armor for your garage.First off, the color. Oxford Blue is a deep, rich blue that looks bold without being too in-your-face. It’s got that classy, almost regal feel, like your garage door is about to start making royal decrees. And once it dries? That glossy finish makes it look brand new, as if you’ve just installed a fancy new door rather than given it a fresh coat.Application is pretty straightforward. It goes on smoothly, but it’s thick, so don’t go overboard on the brush or roller unless you want drips. One coat can sometimes be enough, but if you’re covering a lighter color, two will do the trick. The best part? No primer needed, this stuff grips metal surfaces like a pro.Durability-wise, Hammerite lives up to its reputation. It’s weather-resistant, meaning rain, sun, and the occasional football bouncing off the door won’t chip away at it. Plus, it helps prevent rust, which is a huge win if your garage door has seen better days.Downsides? Well, it takes a while to fully dry, so patience is key. Also, once you open the tin, the smell reminds you that this is serious, industrial-strength paint, not the kind you want to use in a closed space without ventilation.Overall, if you want a garage door that looks sharp, stays protected, and holds up against the elements, this is a solid pick. The Oxford Blue shade is deep, bold, and durable, and the glossy finish gives your garage that fresh, just-painted look for ages. Highly recommended for a quick and dramatic and durable upgrade.

Great product, lid system needs to be reviewed
This paint is perfect for the job I wanted. I painted the spikes on my gate railings just to give them a bit of definition. I only needed one coat. A little paint goes a long way. I love the compact size of the tin but the metal lid is a real pain to get off and to put back on. I bent it slightly out of shape trying to get it off so that become more of a difficult process to get it back on. A plastic or screw on lid would make this product perfect.

Brilliant for garden bistro set
Bought 750ml, to paint a very rusty, galvanised bistro set. Used a wire brush to get the rust flakes off before painting.Have done 2 chairs & a table top and it has covered in just the one coat! There is half a tin left. Decorating anyway so brought it inside to paint. I wasn’t bothered about the mess in that area. Also, there is a nearby door I could open for ventilation.I Left it overnight to dry and then flipped the set over to paint all the undersides too. Paint does go a bit sticky in the tin after a while but I just re - stirred and it was absolutely fine.Extremely pleased with how it turned out and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.Photo maybe doesn’t show - Bright Blue turns out a nice cobalt colour.

Does what it says on the tin - YOU MUST FOLLOW application RULES to the letter !
My radiators are 45 years old and have never been painted. I wiped them down with a kitchen sponges sourer side and then with a tea towel wiped them clean. I then very carefully followed the instructions to the letter ! I made sure the heating had been off 24 hours so the house and radiators were completely cold. I then sprayed a mist coat over the radiator adhering to the distance I should spray from exactly. The moment I saw a single little run of paint I stopped spraying immediately. The paint is very forgiving if you get a run and stop immediately as it appears to self level and the run disappeared. I left further application coats time window to double to what the instructions said so:1 Mist coat - leave one hour.2 Next coat - leave one hour.3 Next coat - leave one hour.4 Next coat - leave one hour.I then left the heating off for a further 24 hours to allow the paint to fully cure. Each coat I applied in opposite directions, so first coat horizontally, then next virtually etc etc.The end result was I had a radiator that looked like a brand new gloss enamelled radiator and looks beautiful. The application is all about prep, not rushing and using correctly. The spray paint quality is wonderful giving a super gloss bright white finish that looks just like a brand new enamel radiator. One can is enough for one average sized radiator.

Really good paint
I bought this for my bird bath that started to rust. When I bought the bath it said it didn’t rust as it was copper but it was a lie and after a few months it started to rust. I didn’t want to throw it away as it’s still new so I decided to clean it and get anti rust paint. This one is very good, I like the colour too especially with the water. I had to give it two coats of paint and it drys quickly, especially in this heat. Very good quality, easy to apply and coverage is very good. Small tin but it has a lot, you don’t need to use much.

Paint for renewed brake callipers
Painted car callipers when changing the discs/pads. It restores the original silver-ish look in one coat. Just do not over-do, a thin coat is enough. It looks like the original galvanic coating. Some people report success with different colours, but I wanted just a fresh original look. Do not worry about temperatures, on a road car the calipers never heat above 100C, while a thin layer of this paint is very resilient to higher temperatures due to the aluminium powder. Very small amout is used, about 10% of the tin. The paint dries fast, as it was sunshine and wind yesterday. The smell is fine, much better than spray paints, but I would use it outside only to avoid headache.

Size of can is deceptively small, but results are fantastic
For the price, you think you're getting a quart... nope, it's 8 ounces, going to need 5 or 6 cans to get our wrought iron fence done... BUT, it's so easy to apply (it is very thick), and the results are fantastic. Our old fence got a major face-lift. The other alternatives for repair would have been more time consuming and more expensive, so this was a great solution. Hoping it really holds up 8 years as promised

Hammerite vernice metalica oro liscio
